I suffered thru some of his video blogs. His name is "Jay", resides in Toronto, and from his blogs "Saskatchewan is the furthest away his has lived". I'm guessing that this video is vintage, given the date of the video blog.
 
I would just like to point out that not all media are calling them hunters. Read the entire thread before you start ripping the media. Its just the "big Boys" that have no clue or education when it comes to these things. In order for this to work we need the media so saying that you hate them and that they're a bunch of f***heads isn't exactly the best thing to do.

I will say AGAIN...how can we blame the media and call them A-holes for portraying this as hunting...

when we ourselves (CGN), who should know better, put this thread in the HUNTING section....doesn't it strike you as ironic. :mad::mad::mad:

Pretty sad video. For those of you that think this is an isolated occurrence ,especially by us law abiding Canadians :rolleyes:, wake up.

I find dead animals year-round shot from roads and left to rot, mostly big game though.

Most of these morons just don't take the extra step to post it on youtube or make a video.
 
If there is a member of this forum threatening violence with a firearm, are we not hypocritical to remain silent, after all this thread stands for?

Start reporting everything you read on the internet that was written in haste to the police and see how long they take you seriously.

Can I offer a small piece of advice. On one side we do have media here and they sell papers etc with hyperbole and sensationalism not the truth. They don't call it creative writing for nothing. Do we really need a story in the paper about how some members of the shooting forums have started making comments about shooting people or lynching them. I agree that emotion in this issue is heavy.

The other thing to mention is that when these guys get to court and the judge is considering sentencing do you really want to have their lawyers start saying things like "my client has suffered horribly your honour, not only is he ashamed of what he has done he is the victim here too of many threats against him. he cannot go outside for fear of being hunted down and shot after people on the internet have been harassing him"

We know the truth but lawyers will twist and push and in some cases lie to do anything to reduce the impact of the criminal justice system on their clients. Lets try to not give them a any ammo of their own...Just my opinion but I have seen it happen in court many time..

In all seriousness, it was pretty stupid to post on the guys youtube page threatening him with a firearm...In the Authorities eyes that is a MUCH more heinous crime than plinking ducks.
The EXCELLENT PR that CGN recieved is most definately reversed by stupid comments like that.

I take any threats seriously, and I'm sure the police would be more interested in persons threatening in such a manner than they would be in someone poaching ducks (though the latter is serious enough.)

Also, I take very seriously anything that can be construed as a tactical disadvantage to our cause here on CGN.

I didn't become a responsible owner of firearms to have that tarnished by ANYONE, poachers or people who consider threats as an option in a disagreement.

Since both of these events have occurred in public view on the internet, I'm sure you can see my point, and since you appear (unless I'm grossly reading this wrong) to be the person who is alleged to have made the comments, I find your suggestion that I choose my battles wisely to be somewhat disingenious.

I also suspect that the comments posted are already the subject of investigation.

Hopefully not to the detriment of what we tried to do here to catch these guys.
