anyone shoot at Victoria fish and game?

I think they should have a reason to require you to take the course, taking a pistol from a holster safely is not rocket science, in fact, if you can remember 4 basic rules, you're pretty much good to go. The blanket branding of people as incapable of being safe without a course is unfair to the 95+% of the population who aren't, frankly, slow.

If you compete with a pistol or carry one at work are you exempt from the holster class?
And they're charging for this class? Shouldn't it be included in the current membership fee if it's a requirement?

Its a little like asking a full bar RCN Captain to take his BC Safe boaters course...
but then again, wielding a 5000 tonne frigate is a bit different than a pleasure-craft...

Same for those of us who have some experience with drawing from holster. Canada laws and what is acceptable as this particular range might be slightly different than what our previous training, and professional wisdom might dictate. I get it. I just don't accept it as being an item to exclude you from membership or use of the MP range, if that is indeed the case.

The course was $20 (which apparently goes to the fish and game club, not David), and the one we did was on a Sunday, from 10 to noon.
