Anyone shoot rimfire in their basement?

Someone told me about someone doing this with a .22 pistol and phone books. To keep the noise down he taped a pop bottle over the muzzle. Not sure the point of the whole thing as you probably wouldn't be able to aim.

not to mention the fact that he is now using a supressor which is sort of illegal.

BTW: Usually doing things that are illegal will void ones life insurance...hence 'loading ones firearms in a place it is not legal to discharge'. So if you get injured or killed while basement plinking...

We used to shoot .22's in a friends basement when we were kids. He had a metal bullet catcher that looked like a reflector oven. It worked good and we were careful and never had an accident.

Never thought much about lead poisoning back then. I don't think it's ever affected me except for this twitch I have in my head, my arms shoot up unexpectedly, and my tongue keeps flopping out of my mouth. Other then that I haven't noticed any ill effects at all

Lead is a "Reproductive toxin". Have you tried having kids?:D

hum on my trade some day I shoot over 500 hilti (or ramset) shots by day, this tool shoot a .22 cal or .25cal ammo for driving a pin on concret, i use this inside some small room. On the msds sheet they never talk about ventilation or the use of some mask. I make some test with the blank .22 cal ramset cartige and is really more powerful of regular .22 lr ammo. sorry but the fume of a .22 lr dont affraid me

hard to use a air gun to sight or cheek a .22 lr rifle

we dont talk about shooting 500 ammo for fun , we mean to shot 2 or 3 bullet to cheek a rifle

I would NEVER do anything like this. Incidentally it is almost exactly 20 yards from my living room chair to the washing machine, if I open every door in between. I don't remember where I was going with that but the point is if something is against the law it's also totally wrong and morally reprehensible and could not possibly be fun or a good idea.

on the life you have two kind of people the first one still afraid by is mom all of is life and the other one is able to make is own choice and is not afraid by big brother

I don't even HAVE a basement ... That being said, I used to shoot my pellet rifles a LOT in the garage as a kid, since I couldn't go outside with them anymore without some neighbor calling the cops.

my buddy put a CB short through his floor in his mini home.... now he lives in the country and can shoot from his doorstep.

I have shot out my bathroom window before, and from my patio and from my driveway and I think I even fired a shot or 2 in my basement.

Another buddy of mine (gunsmith) occasionally test fires his guns into a wood pile in his basement.
