Anyone shooting IPSC mini rifle?

I have shot a bunch of them I either use a modded 10/22 and or a RF224 Adler. both use the 10/22 style mags which I will say is the larger problem of holding mags in an accessible format. Sometimes dump bags are used/sometimes not permitted

So which gets used more? The Adler or the 10/22?

The Adler looks "right" for these sorts of games (AR ish looks, compact size, would imagine it handles well etc etc) but the 10/22 is very customizable as it has been around for a while (maybe not so much for the Adler).

And the big question - which of the two has been more reliable?

What are people using for mag holders? I have a derya tm22 coming but I dont see much about mag holders for these?

Mag holders for these things is a bit of a dilemma. The first thing I need to figure out is what mags I plan to use (have 597 with adaptor, regular 10/22 10 rounders which would be a stop gap, hope to pick up 25 round TUF type mags ultimately but getting very mixed feedback about reliability).

Of the gear I have on hand the DAA pistol pouches wont hold any of these (mags are too big). I also have DAA pouches for full sized rifles (Stanag fitment) and they kinda work for the 597 mags with adaptors but are too small for anything else.

There has to be an enterprising company out there that picks up on this shortfall and makes something. Or an enterprising individual with a 3D printer......

It seems that for mag holders in Mini Rifle the go to is a 3D printer or finding someone who can work with Kydex.
I'm using HC3R mags but had to have a mag pouch designed and then I 3D printed it.
As far as reliability goes, In 3 matches I've have one failure that required me to rack the bolt using a Dlask Tuf22 receiver, Dlask charge handle/op rod/spring and Kidd bolt. That setup seems to be super reliable. This is using cheap bulk Federal ammo in the blue box.

TUF mags work good if you load them with the mag assembled and diligently load one round at a time without touching the dohicky that compresses the spring. Load it like you would a regular mag and they work well.

A friend uses a loonie sized piece of steel glued to the magazine and a magnet on a teklok for his Derya. Works great.

I have some very nice printed pouches for derya 25 rounders but I don't really like them. With so much curve in the magazine, having multiple doesn't really sit nice on my belt. For 3Gun last summer I did like using HSGI pistol tacos

I ran my "for now" rig today with 597 mags and 10/22 SBI adaptors. Worked great.

I tried both the cheap Federal ammo (525 to a box) and CCI Standard and both worked great.

This is in a pretty standard 10/22 in an ATI? chassis.

That is what I am thinking of doing.

Out of curiosity do you know which way he orientates them on his belt? I was thinking of running them feed lips up but that would be the opposite to what I do with everything so having second thoughts.

Good info, can I ask why can't you use the spring compression dohicky? That would be a major reason for getting the TUF type mags (trying to load a mag without something like that is a royal PITA).

I have heard that the key to getting reliability on the TUF mags is loading from the top like regular mags as opposed to using the stripper clip type deal.

He can carry 2 horizontal on his belt plus 1 in the gun. Usually just runs a stage with 1on the belt. Haven't seen him Go prone yet but I have watched him run lots, take a knee, go through cooper tunnels and lean around walls with no issues so far.

I might give his idea a try but I would be keeping 2 on my belt and I would probably make a spacer to go between the teklok and magnet.

I would be "repurposing" some DAA magnets on a belt from another rig (thank you elbows up voters).

Do you happen to know what kind of glue he used to add the piece of metal to the magazine?

Can you post up some pictures of the Derya pouches you speak of

These are made by a guy I shoot with fairly regularly. Makes several items for the TM22 that are actually pretty decent.
I run his magwell, charging handle, magazine release and I need to get one of his mag loaders.

Not a very good picture of the pouch but you get the idea. Screenshot_20260221_092026_Samsung Internet.jpg

I can see why you don't realy like them. They might work better if you take them out of the bag.

Don't know really. But I can very much confirm that it makes a difference. When you use it to load, the mag is no happy. When you don't touch it, it's pew, pew goodness. :)
