Anyone tried one of the Russian 12 ga slug moulds?

Agree, longshot is a great powder to get these slugs moving. I use cheddite hulls and 12s4 wads. I went through quite a bit of d800 powder testing slugs with great results as well.
I only shoot slugs through a smoothbore however and found plain ol round balls .690", .680" and .662" work just as well to 50 or 60 yards. The lee 1 oz drive key slug has been the most consistent out of the in wad slugs for me.
I have had good luck with both the svarog "italian" and the svarog "paradox"
The paradox in particular is an absolute hammer, should only be fired through a cylinder bore or rifled bore.
I would like to find a nice cut down side by side and keep it loaded with these.
I need to get back out and do more testing with the paradox slug as I believe it could be a winner

I have been messing with the Dangerous Game slugs (16 ga) by BPI to use in one of my drillings. The wad stays attached to the 1 ounce lead and acts as a shuttlecock which is supposed to make the slug more accurate. I have not shot enough to find if this is true. I tried powder coating the slug after removing the wad but the lead deformed in the powder coating oven. Too bad as I really like powder coated projectiles. With regard to the 16 gauge hulls I don't like to crimp them as I want to keep reloading them. I cut them to 2 1/2 inches on my band saw. I cover the slug with an over powder card that has the centre punched out. The pointy slug protrudes a little. I seal the overpower card with water glass (sodium silicate solution).

Thanks to to all the contributors to this very interesting topic.

I have three of their molds. Pardox from AS, Paradox from Svarog, and Kontareva 3 from AS. Just started casting with them. If you want information on reloading these slugs, join the Facebook group called Buck and Slug reloaders. There are members on there that have done extensive tests on some of these slugs.
