I tried TG for 44mag. 9 to 10 grns in .1grn increment. My 44 is a desert eagle, so quite different from the usual revolver or rifle.
Long story short: It sucked. It failed to cycle, and the bullet wouldn't stabilize. I tried normal and magnum primers. The difference is insane. With normal primers it would probably work ok in a revolver or a lever action rifle. With a magnum primer it feels more like an explosion than like a gunshot. It probably makes a pressure spike, which is NOT GOOD.
With H110 or IMR4227, the gun will cycle, but only if using magnum primers. With a normal primer I believe the powder doesn't burn as fast. Again, your experience might be different since you don't have a slide to cycle.
