One thing I have not understood yet is why no one makes a 28 gauge rifled shotgun for use with sabot's. It would be a lot more manageable than even a 20-gauge. Given that the 28 is only .55 inch, it should be fairly easy to design a Powerbelt type projectile, or a sabot to shoot 40 caliber sized bullets. I use a 20 ga. Savage because it's not as bulky as the 12, but I know I'd switch to a 28, or even a .410 (if someone made one with reasonable power and projectiles).
Agree but the 28-gauge would likely be in production now if more states allowed bores that small for deer hunting Many have 20ga as a min unfortunately
