why would you want the expensive DPMS?
Don't be so quick to jump in with the hater squad. Have you actually held one or are you just basing your opinion on what others are saying?
Calling it a DPMS just because it may use a modified DPMS carrier is like calling a Colt AR an expensive NEA since they have interchangeable parts. They could have used a JP enhanced bolt and carrier but then you'd be paying another $200 for every model up the line.
If you look at it like that then all AR's are all just an Armalite with a different brand name on the side and a different price tag for the brand stamp.
ATRS has done a lot of work to bring the product they have to the market and get it past the RCMP as non restricted. Most of the problems encountersd so far with their rifles have been user error not a product design flaw (most), the other issues that are in their control are being corrected in the later rifles. Also keep in mind that DPMS has been making AR's and parts for AR's for a long time and many AR's out there have DPMS parts in them, LPK's probably being the most common so it really isn't that big of a problem unless someone wants to make it an issue. Have any failed yet because ot the parts used?
I'm still on the fence, but a non restricted, hand fitted, precision semi auto with CNC upper lower and match grade barrel that doesn't weigh 9+ pounds for $3500-$4000 doesn't sound too bad to me. I need to get my hands on a MV before making my decision.
How can you be so sure this APC will live up to the hype? No one but John and a couple guys at Wolverine have even seen one in Canada. It's just another new product and just because it's Swiss made doesn't guarantee it will be the greatest rifle we've ever seen. B&T make quality firearms for sure but for $4000 will it be all they claim it to be. It's definitely a heavy rifle which is something everyone always complains about when talking about other rifles like XCR's or ACR's. Accuracy claims are very subjective and dependent on a lot of factors most of which being the person behind the trigger and from what I've read on this site most people who expect moa or better aren't capable of shooting that well and aren't willing to spend the money on the ammo a rifle needs to shoot that well and aren't capable of understanding why cheap surplus doesn't perform well in their rifle.
Time will tell if it's what we all hope it will be.
