Applying for RPAL with Secret (LEVEL-II) security clearance

I sent my application last week, and I wonder. I have a Secret clearance, this basically requires an extensive background check and can take up to 1 year before emission. Is it going to affect my application?(Since the background check that they have to do is already done)

Anywone in this forum have applied for an rpal and had a security clearance? If so, do you noticed that the process got quicker or they just dont share the information between rcmp departements and it's the same thing as everywone elses?

Your secret clearance didn't take a year. I have a higher level than that. Your RPAL isn't held up by security checks, it's just bureaucratic delay, plain and simple. There won't be any measurable difference in how quickly you are processed.

It can take up to year for some clearances or less then a day.

Ah,Life was so much easier back in the day when me and Jethro Bodine had our double ought's. Of course that was back in the good old days when we just had to protect the country from the Grunions and there was no such thing as a gun registry. For CGN'ers less than 45 this will probably go right over your heads.
