Appreciation for Service Program for Canadian Forces Personnel

Has anyone from 1-08 heard anything yet? I have not. Last I heard the engraving was "allegedly" complete, and we are just waiting to hear from Provincial CFO to arrange for the transfers. I will believe this to be true when someone confirms that they have actually heard from their CFO in this regard.

I'm never dealing with Tetragon again.

well i called para today and put my name on one for the 2009 run(i guess).the email sent to me showing what model im getting was "We have received your order for (1) PRX745CB. Thank-you!"the main thing i really cared about is what caliber i had to pick from.when ordering she said 40S&W or 45acp.i went with the 45acp.other then that im going to be happy.price was GREAT for an Appreciation for Service edition(this is why i wanted one).as for the guys looking to flip it to make a $BUCK$....well the one how buys it are more deserving and will appreciateit more, then the guy how first got it just because he has a service #.
anyway since im big time new to handguns what will the model look like that i have comeing?

En Anglais, s'il vous plait?

Nothing heard from me either, communication is pretty bad on this deal.
Emails not being replied to.:mad:

jw695,

Now that's just trash talk.

I got a pistol through the last order, and yeah, it took awhile, but go figure when you look at how many companies/ gov't departments are involved.

Para builds it (custom order, remember?)
they have to register each firearm with the gov't,
then off to the distributor (not sure if there is a transfer involved there),
the distributor has to wait for the transfer to you before they can ship,
then shipping time.

And this is without listing the niggly details.

No need to stir s*it with "did we get scammed?" posts.

Has anyone considered that we've been conned and that we will never see the guns or the money again?

I think that may be a little unappreciative of people like Words Twice who go out of their way to make the annual and any CF approved special deal possible.

i talked to sara at tetragon on monday. she said that i should be expecting a call from the CFO "any day now", so its still fingers crossed.

I believe ParaOrdnance is sincere about showing appreciation to CF Members. The program is not specific to any one agency or Force. What it does take though is a individual in that force or agency to act as the POC/OPI. In the CF's appreciation program, it was Words Twice who took on that challenge and put in the extensive staff work to secure permission from the CF to allow the name to be used on the pistols.

To Words Twice: thank you very much.

Shelldrake, you are very welcome. I was glad to do it. Thanks for the back-up here on the forum while I was in Suffield.

The 2009 program is up and running and I plan to run a TF 3-09 program from Theatre (that will be managed differently to avoid the TF 1-08 program issues). Once I am back, I will launch the 2010 program as well. Although I was not involved in the TF 1-08 pistols, from what I understand they are starting to move out now. Can anybody confirm that?

As for all the comments about selling the Appreciation For Service Pistols for a large profit, I have rather deep set opinions that I will not share here.

Words Twice

How much do you make on these programs, Word Twice? Or do you get a free gun, or a cut on merchandise? Seems like you are working for Tetragon, whether officially or not.

Frustrations with dealing with Tetragon regarding a specific order(for a TF) is one thing. Delays can occur from a number of different levels from manufacture to processing, to the handling company involved, to the CFO involved.

Accusing an officer of being some backdoor sales hack is out of line.

What business is it of yours?
Words Twice has done above and beyond what is called for, I know from personal experience so STFU. You want to know, send him a pm and ask, asking these questions on a public forum shows you obviously have no tact or diplomacy.

It will be the business of everyone involved with the TF1-08 order if and when it reaches legal proceedings. If one is to function as a de facto public sales representative, then one shouldn't be surprised when the nature of the relationship is questioned. Although he has no obligation to disclose this relationship to us, there are also no laws preventing us from asking.

The facts remain that a large transaction with a company which practices specific-niche target marketing has gone awry and a large number of the customers are unhappy. Legal options are being explored, and a file is being prepared for the BBB among others.

At the very least. Tetragon has been guilty of extremely poor customer service and communication, so potential new customers should be made aware.

As far as "accusing an officer" of anything, the courts will not care about the profession or rank of the individual in question, as it is merely the nature of an individual's involvement in the transaction at hand that is relevant.

Wow... your name explains you perfectly.

There are 2 reasons you may be asking that question:

1: you just love to :nest:

2: you're someone who ordered a pistol off that particular run and you're pissed due to bad customer service, and you're taking it out on Words Twice. That means you're CF personnel who doesn't have the balls to call an officer out on what you consider misconduct. If that's so, you're a damn coward posting that crap on an internet forum instead of PMing or emailing him directly.

Either way, STFU; your comments here are entirely inappropriate.

Words Twice has put a ton of time and effort into providing CF members with a very unique opportunity; he is hardly to blame if there is a glitch outside of his control. I, for one, am very grateful for what Words has done for CF pers.

Just got this note from a buddy also involved in this order:

I just wanted confirm you all got a call from Tetragon about our pistols. The .45s are in and being shipped out to us as soon as you give the firearms centre a ref.# you get from Sara at Tetragon. The .40s are coming later.

One issue that I see though is I looked at the pics they sent us and the pistols are not the model we ordered. I tried to call Sara, but she was at lunch so I'll be trying later today. And from what I can tell from the pic is they are single action not light double action. For some you this might not be a problem, but we did pay more for the LDA over a single action. Single action is more classic, but we decided to get LDAs because they are only made by Para.

And then this follow up note:

I just talked to Graham (the boss at Tetragon) and he tells me the following;

-.45s are single action, single stack;
-.40s are LDA (light double action) double stack;
- .40s aren't in yet.
