Appreciation for Service Program for Canadian Forces Personnel

I had a last minute emergency, and I had to drop the cash I was saving for the sf45a onto a new mountain bike. my other was stolen oh well. Next run.
at least by then, there will be range reports, hint hint, nudge nudge.

I believe the Tac 5 is gone. it is replaced by the dx18.9. There are slight differences that word twice can weigh in on .

The TAC 5 was replaced with the DX 18-9 some time ago (at the IPSC Nationals to be exact). It was a decision Para and I came to in order to broaden the number of people who may be interested. The two pistols are nearly identical but the 18-9 was chosen as it can be shot in both IPSC (Production) and IDPA (ESP). Here are the differences:

TAC 5
alloy frame
bobbed beavertail grip safety
mag well
no light rail

DX 18-9
steel frame
full beavertail grip safety
no mag well
no light rail

Same here. I'm passing on this deal, because i find para double stack grip uncomfortable. I would have ordered a single-stack.

Double ditto

I asked about that on the Para forums and the answer was that there was not enough demand..

Its a helluva deal they are giving us. But I dont want a pistol I wont enjoy shooting, even if its a bargain.

I thought they were all coming in tan? I'll have to ask a guy I know who ordered and received(shipped to his home), as he is going home this weekend.

There were two pistols avail in the program. The .45 model is in tan, and the 9mm LDA model is in Covert Black.

Edited to add: I think the Covert Black looks better than the tan.

Ah yes, black is very nice indeed.

Alas, I would have really jumped on it if it were single stack...but seeing these makes me regret somewhat because it is a pretty great deal.
