Appreciation for Service Program for Canadian Forces Personnel

For those who have the SF45A already, range report please. I have one on order, got that email stating I'll get it soon so...just itching. in your opinion, need it be sent to Gunnar after I receive it?

Hell no. It's a got a really nice trigger for a non-competition gun. Very little weight and hardly any distance to reset. The pistol has worked flawlessly for me, although I've only put about 1000 rds through it. The mags seem to be good quality as I haven't gotten any jams of any kind. It has a heavy recoil spring that I suppose could be replaced with a lighter one, but it has handled my full power reloads no problem with 230 gr projectiles.

Are you shooting JHP's, WC's? or FMJs? I guess there's no FTL's with WC's or JHPs

Tried to register on the forum to get more details. Waited a few days and got an e-mail saying they couldn't verify that I was a proffesional so they cancelled it. Don't know how they tried to verify but you would think that it would involve getting in touch with me. Replied to them but they never got back to me.

I do believe the issue may be that they rely on you using a @forces.gc.ca account to register but I'm currently well outside the wire with no access to the DWAN. Not that you should need one because I believe the program is open to retired service members as well. Just wanted to get more info on the program but if they can't be bothered to contact me directly I may not bother.

Contact Wordstwice directly- he's very helpful, amazingly so considering he's on active service.

don't rmc cadets get forces.gc.ca? or do they still use that rmc.ca?

rmc.ca as well as cf.dnd.ca are both valid forces emails, though not entirely accessible through dwan

I'm no ringknocker but I can tell you that RMC cadets do not get a forces.gc.ca account through the RMC IS people(just as you say RMC.ca accessible via regular internet). They can obviously get an account if they were attach posted say on OJT to a unit(unit IS sect to administer).

A forces.gc.ca email is the easiest way to get on the forums and/or buy but it isn't the only way obviously since veterans, reservists and even some reg guys who are in no need of forces email can get on the program.

Oddly, even civies working for DND can get on but I digress.

since its wordstwice who is admin of this programme and does all the vetting, its probably safe to assume that cf-related emails + those with cf-related creds are gtg. However I do not speak for him, nor do I actually know the the contraints of the extents of the programme. For those who do not have dwan, it takes only a little bit of effort on their part to show proof of service: old ident, PERs, UERs, anything that would help wordstwice make the call....not difficult at all.

as an aside: I know quite a few civies who are wholly integrated and do more for the dnd/cf org than some of the corporals for lifers...especially those who work within the DRDC or hold offices at NDHQ. Personally I see no issues with those folks having access to the programme, however, the civi cleaning staff that do a piss poor job at garrison, should not have access. I know of at least two civ pers who'd love to get on the program. They are drdc as eme and do wear the capbadge and combats when in theatre or testing in field. The only thing they don't have is rank or rifle.

Pretty much what I experienced. Used my gov't e-mail address, got a PFO response and nothing else.
Oh well..there are a lot of other gun manufacturers out there that will take my money.

a buddy called about a TF 1-08 .45 and was told about a month. Wish we'd been given the 40 or 45 choice.

They've been saying a month for the last 6 months.. maybe even longer. Took my .45 a year to show up. Still waiting for my .40.

Has anyone already contacted Para directly on this?

Just got off the phone with North silvia my gun has been in for 2 weeks .... So if you ordered a double stack give them a call it might be there.... Now 2 more weeks wait, before its at my door.....

I need to buy more ammo .... lol...

as noted on the para forum, I spoke with para rep and her words for those who ordered 2009 single stack was "eta, don't quote me, 2 months...at least"

Pete, I emailed PARA direct asking about the TFK pistols and that run has closed. She said would be willing to set another one up, but we need to get close to 32 pistols for them to go ahead with the order.

I really want one of these TFK pistols, I am deployed right now. I would be willing to set up a group but Im just concerned about whats all required because who knows how much free time from day to day. Right now its pretty decent but.....
...
As far as I know nothing has been set up for the 2010 Canadian Forces edition
