approved by LEOagencies and armies optics

in the same token as the thread about high end optics was wondering what are the optics approved by armies or leo agencies that you are aware of?
Aimpoint PRO
Aimpoint Duty RDS
Aimpoint M4s
Aimpoint H1 - T1 - H2 - T2
Aimpoint COMPM5
ACRO P1 & P2
Aimpoint 3x & 6x Magnifier

gadget

Is the ACOG used by the US Army consider high end ? Because it did compared to the garbage C79 they slapped on ours

+1 for Elcan Specter and Aimpoint Pro

From my experience....

Aimpoint PRO
Eotech 552
Vortex Viper PST G2 (LPVO)
Vortex Razor G2 (LPVO and High magnfication)

Every LE agency and every mil agency will be different. All based on budget. Essentially anything of higher quality will be in some sort of use. Aimpoints and Eotechs will be the most common (aimpoints primarily) for LE carbine use.

Sentry red dots are used in the British military , or so I was told .
I’ve got one on my Glock 48 ….little bitty thing , works great !

"Acogs and Eotechs are proof the supply system hates us"

US Army Soldier

Just because it is in use doesn't mean it is quality. Just because it never got adopted doesn't mean it is good.

Most aimpoints, some eotechs, acogs, NF ATACR, S&B PM II, are some of the more popular optics. For the micro red dots, the RMR, the Deltapoint Pro, the Docter red dots are also utilized.

A few years ago the local RCMP got a couple of new Rem 700 Tactical .308 rifles and they were mounted with Leupold 1.5-5 scopes (IIRC) I thought it was a bit strange to put such a small scope on HB rifles, especially in a rural area but I suppose they are expecting under 100 yard engagements for the most part.

They were a significant upgrade from their old bolt action rifle which was a push feed M70 with a old Bushnell scope that wouldn't hold zero.

Holosuns are very popular in Ukraine with Russian forces; regular, SF and mercenaries; and AFAIK they are performing well

holosun is a chinese company so not surprised they sell to anyone without any export restriction. Some of the SIG sauer sights from the old day are apparently holosun OEM or OEM components put together in the US.

Holo-sun - the name is so chinese. Everything from the communist days like to have "sun" in the name because sun is red. Red is the communist colour. That's a dead give away it is a company from the older Chinese generation.

Years ago at Shot Show I talked to the old chinese guy behind it who is the founder ( eventually they get rid of most chinese staff from China and used American mostly to face customers ) They took apart Aimpoint and figured out the way Aimpoint could last gazillion of years in battery because the diode actually pulsates ( or flashing, turning on and off) at a high rate that human eyes cannot tell the difference, but it saves a lot of battery juice.

Aimpoint might have figured the trick, but the Chinese figured out how to do the circuit board in many more creative ways and cheaper. You gotta give it to them for putting solar charger on top of their sights, and the Chinese is very good at and prolific with rechargeable circuitry ( Fenix , Olight )

I was told once by an LEO tac sniper that the North American Law Enforcement distance record for sharpshooting/sniping was 140 metres.

I believe it.

South Korean forces use DI Optical prism sights--the FC1 that rides on my briefcase AR-pistol is changed just enough to be legal for civilian sale since the Korean gov won't allow civilian sale or export of anything their mil uses.

I'm not a Korean gearnerd, I just stumbled across this because prism sights are supposedly a very good choice for us who have very bad eyes, those with astigmatism in particular.

Last time I saw one of them zeroing one of those rifle/scopes, lets just say he coulda used some pointers, haha. Also, I think their main use case is putting down bears.

Hell it could be called "Red Sun Mao Zedong Thought Optic Type 94" and i'd still buy one, they make great stuff at great prices. Tired of muh gucci gear costing 4x what it ought to.
