Thanks to all the participants. I hope it was enlightening and cleared up some of the unknowns regarding Fullbore and F Class shooting. I asked the question; was it as difficult as you expected or thought it might be? The unanimous answer was; no, I was surprised I did as well as I did the first time at that distance. This statement alone made the excercise a success in my eyes.
We now have 7 potential regular shooters, all with grins on their faces. Further, I take comfort in knowing these 7 individuals can now attend any Fullbore match without fear of the unknown and do well in the bargain. I also think spending time in the butts marking targets helps a bit too. I myself was quite pleased to see the number of V Bulls with just about any make and model of rifle/scope you can think of. And, out to 800m with 223's. Terrific!
I thought with the way things went, a 1 Day event seems to be able to accomplish what we intended. All the while trying not to get to technical yet getting the point across and have a laugh or two.
Again I'd like to thank Jay, Dale and the TR fellows who so kindly shared the the day, and the Range, for an oustanding first event.
I'd like to also ask for any feedback per what we did. What would you change? What would you like to see more of? I mean besides shooting, we all want more of that. We'll see what the future holds. If we have the time, interest and the wherewithall, we might do another later this year.
Cheers, Glen
PS: Steve, Blue Ice is a terrific treatment for your shoulder. I bet you wished you'd left the 223 barrel on the Blaser, eh. 5 shots with a 300 Ouch & Ouch mag is one thing. 50+ prone is a whole 'nother.
