Ick...Dont you own any real AK's?

Here's the 2 pistols I picked up this month, a 1935 Enfield No.2 Mk.1 revolver from Cam here on the boards(and an unopened box of WW2 .38), and a 1945 Inglis Highpower from another CGN'er. The mask and helmet are old purchases, both '42 dated...

Im gonna make the comment that the Mark deux Ross looks a little teeny weeny bit REFINISHED

.....is it....?

It ain't refinished, that's the way they came.

I sold a friend a Sutherland sight for his just last night....

For some reason he won't sell the Ross to me:confused: I even offered to triple his money:confused:

He figures $75 just ain't enough......

That's a very nice find......congrats!

Not a huge item, but a VERY RARE one ........ :D

Same purpose as the "Flanders Flap" for the muzzle of a WW1 ShtLE (Enfield), but this German invention was designed to keep the mud out of the Gew98 rifle action, yet let the soldier shoot when necessary. They also had a version for the Kar98a.

M48a

I'm really quite please with this purchase.
Someone had farted around with the sear there-by removing the first stage of the trigger which I didn't like. However thats why I have extra parts.

She's good as new now!

She sure is pretty. Nicest looking mauser I have ever had the privaledge to own.

Now all I need to figure out is what bullet and powder combination she wants.

Here's a MAS36 that I just got. It's an "n" series, what year does that make it?
The metal is a bit worn but unrusted and unpitted, and I think with a good cleaning and maybe even a refinishing job on the wood it'll be quite pretty.

After holding it I think that it's probably fits me better than any of my other miilsurps. I can't wait to grab a set of 7.5 french dies.

Here is a listing of the letters and approximate dates that the MAS 36 were manufactured in ...
F, G, H, J, K, and L up to 45XX were all pre-war made
In 1945, the French restarted where they left off in June of 1940 ... L4600, The rest of the L series were manufactured in either 1945 or 1946
M, N, P,and Q were finished off by 1950
They then went to block letters: FG, FH, and FJ and so on until 1957.

Thus, your N prefix rifle was likely made in late 1946 or early 1947. The barrels are often marked under the handguard, it's likely your rifle was assembled within a month or two of the bbl mfgr date.

Hope that helps :) I really like the MAS 36 too :)

Couldn't find anything as nice as your guy's fionds in my price range but I did find a No. 4 mk1 Enfield with matching bolt. The poor baby has been sporterized but the bore is fairly good and nobody hacked on the metal so I'm pleased. Going to have to go out to the range and see how it shoots.
