April Purchases

Calgary Gun Show pick up. P14 that still has the front volley sight plate (but not the dial) and the rear volley peep sight. Bore is great.

If I'm not mistaken, this came from Stencollector's table. Nice guy; great to deal with.

1945 Remington Rand

Picked up a really nice original Remington Rand 1911A1 from early 1945 production.

Does not appear to have been refinished and all is stock RA including the grips, barrel, mag etc....just a nice original wardog survivor with a bit of surface corrosion at ejection port where it came in contact with what was likely a damp holster. Original park is getting pretty thin!
I wish this puppy could talk!

Pardon the crappy pics but here it is.......

All correct M28-76 Finnish sniper version. Lampagyar(on top) is there for comparison. These two somewhat resemble each other. Shape of the bolt, rear peep sights etc. On the sniper version ofM28-76 rear peep is an optional attachment.

Finally had a chance to snap a picture of the Reichsrevolver 1879 I bought on vacation in the States. This one is a VC Schilling built in 1879 and regimentally marked to the 9th Field Artillery munitions column, and with a cancelled mark to the 9th Field Artillery, 1st Battery. It's in very nice condition, including the bore, and everything matches except the cylinder and axis pin. Even the screws on the frame are serial numbered!

I purchased this out of the Gun Library of the Cabelas in Buda, Tx for $715. All it took was a quick call to the BATF to confirm they could sell me an antique. I brought it across the border yesterday with a printed copy of the FRT reference and customs cleared me in 10 minutes. They were actually very pleasant and helpful, which was a surprise! Didn't think it'd be as easy as it was.

Not too much at that location. Very nice Remington 1858 and an R Johnson M1836 flintlock pistol, both of which were way out of my price range for the trip. Nice but IMHO very overpriced 1898 Krag, some neat old stuff, but the Reichsrevolver was the only one I'd have taken home with me.

I did, however, see a gorgeous SAA in .450 Adams with factory lanyard ring at another shop in Fredericksburg, but $20000 was a little out of my price range! I also visited the Texas Rangers Museum in Waco (hundreds of guns, but the standouts were the original Colt 1836 Patterson and 1847 Walker), and the JM Davis Firearms Museum in Claremore, Ok (20,000 guns on display. You name it, they had it, and usually more than one).

I just bought it from a local gun show this week. It has all the markings intact. I made the markings stand out my self. I already shot it and its the most accurate Russian Capture ive shot.

Has a nice SM Sikte F-ram sight adjustable from 100m to 800m. Someone asked the other day about these sights vs. the Vasteraas sights. If you want it to zero to 100m, you also need the proper SVAB front sight blade (+225).

I picked up this beautiful 1893-03 Turkish Mauser in trade from a fellow CGN'er. I don't think I have ever seen a Turk in this pristine condition, the bore is like new!
