So...I bought my NIB Bushmaster AR-15A3 patrolmans carbine more than 10 years ago....and have fired Many Thousands of rounds through it....so much, that the bolt actually broke 2 years ago. I replaced it with a factory Bushmaster bolt ordered from Brownells. Now it's brand new again.
BUT....my current problem is that the internal parts have become soooooo worn, that the rifle doubles now..frequently. Believe me...it's not as fun as it might seem. The second shot is a flyer as I'm not suspecting it to fire...and I get weird looks and whispers at the range.
I'm actually scared to take it out lol....and have called my local gunsmith, and they said, bring it down,, have the parts,, and it'll cost about $40.
I know its a relative simple process....pop out those two pins, and replace the lower parts in receiver with New factory Bushmaster lower parts.
My question.....what is the culprit??? ....has the sear, or disconnector became so worn, that it doesn't disengage, and let's another round pop off before catching?
I love my Bushmaster lol
....bought NIB over ten years...and still in Flawless condition, beautiful healthy finish, well oiled and maintained ....you would look at it, and think it's a year old...absolutely mint. I'll NEVER sell my A3 16" H BAR ......must be fixed back to perfect working order.
Has anyone ever had an AR go burst on you? Or even double more than once?
