Sorry I’m sure this as been asked. What the best AR-15 mag? Ideally I’d like a 30 round pinned to 5 that I could modify back to a 30 if I chose to do so. Looked a few local stores but lots are out of stock.
you do realize thats illegal, right? , max is pinned to 5, with the exception of the pistol mag which is still allowed to 10( which is likely what you bought, ), but asking on a public forum for people to help you break the law is a silly thing to do........
My guess is troll.

And , yes part of my plan is to take my guns to Maine where I spend some vacation time and plan on buying a vacation home. They do not have mag size restrictions there.
I suggest if you want 30 round mags and you plan on using them in Maine buy them there, leave them there and life is good. Crossing the border with prohib firearm parts might get you in a sticky wicket.![]()
A rivet gun is all you need. 3 gun and uspsa competitors do it all time. Unpin in states that allow high capacity, rivet back to 5(or 10) on way home. Though I agree if OP has or will have house down there, might as well have unmodified mags there. Plus they'd likely be cheaper to purchase there
canadian law prohibits any modification of mags, even re-riveting a prohibited magazine before entry. I'd avoid modifications of any kind at all. Buy 30 round mags there and leave your 5/30s here for the least amount of trouble.

Exactly; OP should just wait and buy the mags when in the states. Have you seen how cheap 30 rounders are on lockhart tactical? for the price of a two-four of beer up here he can order a 3 pack of 3 rnd PMAGS or even steel mags to his vacation house. Silly Question, Silly Answers. OP; get a hold of some political SA in this country before asking advise, stating intent to perform an illegal act, then only after follow up with reasoning why. Oh, and just buy the mags in the states. Cheaper and less work for you.
