AR-15's

Tomorrow is the first range day, but I've played with the trigger and I like it a lot. Basically no take-up to speak of and a smooth crisp break. I don't have enough experience to estimate the pull weight but it seems light enough and it feels great. I had several people recommend this trigger to me for performance vs cost. Got it from Arms East.

Edit: Took it to the range today. It's actually not as light as I thought. Could definitely be a tad lighter for me. The product description says it's about 6 pounds.

Very nice build !!!!

ALG is Geissele's daughter's company I believe. They are great triggers for the price. Have one on my AR 9mm. No complaints there.
The Super 3 Gun is a whole league of its own. Have one in my first AR build, and it is still the fastest trigger I have ever purchased. Faster than the Super 3 gun dynamic and faster than the Hiperfire 24C.
You definitely pay for an outstanding product.

Thanks!

The ALG trigger came with two hammer springs. When I posted previously, I had the heavier (milspec??) spring installed. I swapped it for the lighter purple spring, and it's just where I want it. It's a good trigger.

glad it's working for ya.
If you ever get to the point when speed is an absolute must and you want to blow all the other AR guys away.....don't look any further than the S3G
You ca run the ALG pretty fast though....fun fun fun

Just completed this build today after my 5.56 bolt and muzzle break arrived from Brownells. Have 50 110 grn to try at the range tomorrow and will decided after on what optics I will use.

Nice build.
I didn't know the .277Wolverine. It's a wildcat trying to match the 6.8spc with .223rem bolt and mags, correct? Nice idea.

It realy is mind blowing the first time you touch the trigger. It suprised me with how light it was, and when I shot it.... Wow....

So, how'd it shoot? Looks like a really nice refinement of the 5.56x45mm cartridge. What bullet, and powder are you using?

Just took my first AR home with me, and I've already modified it, I just can't leave well enough alone!

The factory DA556's have rather ugly stocks that are dimensionally similar to XM or A1 style stocks, with the small addition of an atrocious camel hump on the bottom. I decided that it was easier to modify the one I had instead of importing a surplus stock. The grip is of the A2 variety, there are a few shapes that are simply not compatible in order to convert it to an A1 grip, though I did chop off the finger stop. The job came out better than I expected, though an original set will always trump the work I've done.

That came out surprisingly nice. If you're looking for an original A1 grip, call up Milarms in Edmonton. They had a tray of them in the surplus room when I was there back in the spring. Might even find an A1/A2 stock.
