It may not have a kitchen sink, but your parts selection are not what I would call "nothing fancy". Nice rig.

I like the RAS II for the Aimpoint, it's a perfect fit. Here is mine (reposted)

Quality KISS principle. I love it :)

I'm a big fan of Aimpoints so this one is no exception. Its 4 MOA dot but it looks more like a 3 MOA.

The mount puts the optic at lower 1/3 co-witness which works great for me.

I wish LaRue would make a slightly lower mount for that Aimpoint.

Jess,...Larue does make that mount in three different heights, here is the information from their web site.
[FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]
Tall (LT660)
Allows a 1/3 co-witness with the Iron Sights on M4 Carbine and AR-15 Flattop.

Medium (LT660HK)
Provides lower 1/3 cowitness when used with HK416 weapons systems, or similar AR-15 piston upper assemblies.

Short LT661)
QD Mount for Aimpoint Micro Sight. Gets the Micro down low to use on Shotguns, PS90's and AK's

-RRA 7.5 inch 9mm upper with quad rail
-RRA lower
-10 round pistol mag
-Eotech 551
-Front/Rear flip up sights
-Surefire U2 that has been shortened
-Green laser
-vert grip

Basically an indoor range "fun gun"
The front looks a bit like some sort of spaceship with all the stuff hanging off the rails.

But with our Canuckistan gun laws is there really any other kind of AR in civilian hands than a fun range gun...

In all serousness and respectfully......................

Tell me about your shortie. What model of and how do you like that Acog on that particular carbine.

regards

AbH

It's a Bushmaster XM-15 and started out with a 16" barrel. The short barrel is also a Bushmaster that I bought from a fellow CGN'er. It matches up and shoots great. The ACOG is a lot of fun and it's one of my most prized toys. Its got the red circle of death and once dialed in, it's a lot of fun. I can't say enough good things about this ACOG. I bought it used and sent it in to Trijicon via Police Ordnance and either they refurbished it or gave me a completely new one as it came back spanking new with all new windage and elevation screws and new stampings. It makes this shorty a favourite.
