The UBR was a replacement for a SOPMOD.
The Magpul is heavier and sets the balance rearward (the LMT is a bit front heavy with all that rail) Without the bi-pod the balance is at the middle QR sling mount point.
The UBR is definitely narrower than a SOPMOD but I found I was always cheek to buffer tube and thought this would work for me. It does.
Some would say it's overkill as far as a stock goes but it is a really nice design.
I have a CTR on my "lite" AR and the two guns are night and day.

En effet, je me suis echapper avec mon chum de gars avec mes AR15 il y a un ans... les chasseurs se sont plaints. Les boss m'ont tapper sur les doigts et ils ont iriges une pancarte. Je les remercies depuis pour le compliment d'ailleurs!
