i really can't get used to the foreward grip,
I grew up shooting .22, single shot, bolt action.
the grip just doesn't seem natural under the forearm.
I feel like grabbing the area just were the forearm and mag well meet.\

My understanding is vertical grip becomes more of an issue during sustained fire as the barrel heats up it free's up ventilation room. Even with the shroud holding the forestock can still get uncomfortably warm during sustain fire. It can reduce/control barrel hop easier if you have access to full auto. This one accepts a extra battery for a light and/or accessories if desired. It also makes a good mount for a pressure switch (this model has removable sections on the sides to make the installation of the pressure switch seamless instead of "a bump on a log") as well... especially if the forestock starts to become encumbered with assorted gadgets.
Plus to install a RIS system I was quoted 500-800 depending of the system... and you can spend alot more. This one was 35 bucks with two rails included. My understanding on base is alot of guys are putting them on when they get overseas

I just test fired this Baby today, and it's like heaven. She ran the mile and back, without a hiccup , 7.5" , NOVESKE, with the ELCAN 1" GROUPS AT 100M with WWB 62gr , what more do you need for ZOMBIE STOMPIN

Dave at Target Sport Center in Stouville put my new picatinny gas block and Levang compensator on my AR15. Had a adjusting to do on the gas block but everything runs like a charm - no dreaded gas problems on this 11.5".
Creates quite a flash show at the front and directs the sound and light downrange instead of to the side. Meh, something different. I am now officially 'lane friendly'.
