AR 180b or AR 15

Also thanks for all the info on the whole ar 180b2 I did not know that so I'm really glad I made this post before running out and buying the wrong one , also thanks again Travis since I'm going to take your suggestion again and stay away a from the NEA 15 7.62

All this information has really been helpful and as a new gun owner it really helps knowing everyone's experiences before making a purchase ( expecially a $1000+ purchase) so again thanks everyone I REALLY appreciate all the help!

Just remember - the integral muzzle brake is the most important thing to look for to tell if it is non restricted or not. The AR180B-2 vs. AR180B issue only came about in rifles made after 2004, so early production rifles marked AR180B (without the -2) have the integral brake and are non restricted too.

I had a 180b and it was alright. No drama with the hinges like eveyone who never owned one cries about.
Just dont bash it, and it will be fine.
Like mentioned in an above post parts are getting scarce, midwest industries used to make some aftermarket goodies which have now dried up.
Armalite has various small bits in stock, but are quickly fading as they arent building more.

I sold the gun in favour of keeping my ATRS ar-15,... As nice as it was to own the non restricted, i found myself going to the range more than the bush so up she went.
