I own one and have had it for 1 year now. I love it! Great shooter non-rest. goodness.Bought the 10round mags changed the fore stock. Some people say it's not that accurate pfft! I have no problems hitting my targets at 100 yds open sights. Bought mine off this board from another CGN user.
I was simply confirming that yes it is capable of hitting a 100 yard target.
Now for my completely biased opinion. If the AR-180B was the top selling carbine in the states then it would not have been discontinued.
So it was not a top seller in the states. It cost as much as an AR is made of plastic, lacks the modularity of the AR and is generally agreed that it is slightly less accurate than an AR-15. Hey what`s not to like.
But that is in the states and they do not have to go through the BS that we do for a restricted. Here you need to pass two courses get a special permit to get an AR. Must keep the gun trigger locked and locked in a cabinet or keep it in safe. When you want to take it out you are only allowed to go directly to and from the approved range which you have a transport permit for. From what I am hearing from Quebec they are delaying transfers for restricted rifles for months.
Compare this to the non restricted AR-180 b the you need a regular pal and you must keep the gun unloaded or only loaded where it is legal to shoot it.
Hmm if the states had the same rules as us then the AR 180b would probably still be in production. This is confirmed here in that these 1000 dollar rifles are now selling for around 1300 used.
Now if a Canadian is looking for a non restricted rifle that takes AR 10 round mags here are their options.
Remington 7615 you just can`t be tactical tim with that. It is a pump.
XCR expensive and hard to find
tavor expensive and impossible to find
AR180B least expensive and not too difficult to find.
So the AR180B is the most accessible non restricted black rifle that accepts AR Mags. Now with my earth shattering opinion. It is a not a bad carbine considering our very limited options.
