Does anyone know why production stopped? Seems like a lot of money was to be made by the Armalite Inc if they continued producing them.
Unlike in Canada where being NR made them extra attractive, in the US they competed head to head with ARs and offered no real benefits over them while generally being more expensive. In fact while the AR market has boomed and their accessory choices have multiplied exponentially, the accessory market for the 180B remained very limited. It just didn't offer enough over the AR to make it viable, at least not stateside.

Isn't the US switching snipers to a new AR based system that will take .223 and .308 uppers?
I thought the ones that Irunguns are bringing in are the California models with the barrel that makes it NR here?
Either way good on them to bring them in.
An aluminum lower for sure. Until then I baby mine when taking apart.

I'm the resident AR180B guy. Love the gun, have a couple of them including a Sterling built AR180.
That being said, the AR180B is not, and never will be, a $1400 gun.
