AR Build- Lower Receiver Advice - Need Opinions!

I have both a spike's lower and an aero precision lower both are are forged 7075 t6 and are both great quality with no issues and fantastic fit and finish

I used a spikes tactical under my mur and they fit together nice and tight and there finish is the same.

Armtac has Noveske Gen 2 stripped lowers right now, $400… I can’t help but think they are the perfect match for a Vltor upper… no basis for this, it just seems right…

The question is spend the money once and never have to worry about it again or buy the Areo and take the risk. If Aero is the same as Spikes, you can't really go wrong with a $300 Complete lower. Having said that, a Noveske, Cadex or Vltor lower is just so appealing.

I have the vltor lower on my 10.5" and it is a solid piece of kit. I went for it over the others based on the side mounted QD sockets. Not a great reason I know but very practical for my purposes. Overall it was also an easy choice- pre assembled, quality parts, add a stock and go.

Hey guys,

I'm looking for lower receiver opinions for my AR 15 Build. It will be below a 16" barrel attached to a VLTOR MUR-1 upper. I'd like to keep the lower under $600. Thoughts on buying the pre built VLTOR lower from ARMS EAST? I was also contemplating using an STI stripped lower and building it myself. Obviously, I'd like the best fit possible with the highest quality parts within my budget. If I'm missing anything let me know!

A stripped RRA from Questar is $200. IMHO, one of the better options out there with known quality.
I don't place much value on using 7075 for a lower, cast-in QD swivels on the lower receiver (have them on my SR15 and think they get in the way of the fire controls) or a ribbed front to the mag well. Also not a big fan of the cast-in trigger guards either.

Aero lowers work just fine. Its not fancy but it works. I would save one the lower and put the cash saved into a Geissele trigger.

Aero makes Spikes lower dont they ?

Aero do not make spikes lowers, they may have made one of there dozen or so models in the past. I believe there were 3 diff manufacturers in the past for there lowers over the years. There is 1 long post on a forum out there somewhere about the history of spikes lowers but dont remember the forum.
Aero is made from 2 different manu dependant on markings ... the older AP### and current LW###

...or vice versa, I've read.

I too almost bought an Aero lower, as it had great reviews on the forums. I ended up getting a factory complete Bushmaster lower at a killer price from Kodiak Outpost before they closed up. It was too good to pass up for a complete unit.
