Who in Canada sells different height AR front sight posts. I have looked a bit but figured I’d ask here as the experts probably know more. Need a taller front sight for My Ruger scout. The one on my AR is actually a bit shorter than the Ruger post. 0.040 and 0.060 higher to try out?

Thanks!

There are different heights available. (Google is your friend if you don’t know or understand). wondering who offers them in Canada. I know how to adjust the front AR sight.

Windham Weaponry has a front sight post kit with different heights and Sporteque is a dealer. They don't have any in stock but I'm sure it's worth an email or phone call. Azz####h (extra z's added due to censorship) or Irunguns might be able to bring one in for you.

If the + .40 KNS or maybe bushmaster pins are not enough you probably need to contact Ruger for warranty. AR10 pins might be taller because of the different height receiver but its the Wild West of specs, look for bushmaster DPMS height FSP.

Went to order two different posts a detent and a spring. They want over $30 for shipping for four tiny little parts that could fit on a tiny envelope. Ridiculous. 🤬
I inquired on about sending a screw in a bubble envelope. They said that the sorting machine rips up packages and no longer uses it.

Remove the front sight post.

Remove the phosphate w/ wire wheel..

Add a couple drops of TIG weld.

Blend

Blacken

Re-install

Time invested-10minutes.

A1 sight posts are round

A2 sight posts are square.

All the posts in my parts bin are ~ 0.8" overall length and the post itself is ~ 0.25" above the base of the post.
The threaded portion below the base of the post is ~ 0.45"
Most of the posts are square type 0.070" thick

If any of these are of use, let me know and I'll get one to you.

Thanks Belt!

I have a few good CGNers that are sending me some to try. I will Pm you if I need anything from your parts bin. Thank you again for the offer.

Cheers man! Hope all is well!

This was what I was thinking. I can arc weld and Mig, but never tig welded. I do have some connections though. When the parts show up this will probably be the plan if none of them are taller than what I have.

Thanks!

Beltfed was nice enough to send me a few posts to fiddle with, thank you! Bought another on the EE but it was way too short.

Used pure silver solder, soldered two together then cut one base off. Filed, cleaned up. Shot it off the deck after supper tonight, needed a few file down treatments but it works good now. Problem solved!

Still a little long in the pic. The one on the left is the factory one.
