I attempted to strike a partnership several times with different people. First time the person fell of the face of the earth then i see a modified SKS using my designs being sold on EE by him. Next was a CNC shop in Alberta that i met face to face and brought them my 3D printed adapters and gave them a 3D file. After two weeks they message me saying that they cant reproduce the 3D drawings and that i should spend more time sending them dimensions. Sorry, not dealing with that.
What it comes down to is that the cost of the rifle makes the cost of the adapter a prohibitive number. Who would pay $300 for an adapter on a $200 rifle? Not many. Its something like $50 in raw materials alone plus a dozen hours per adapter. Most CNC shops quoted me around 200 in labour per adapter plus material. So i'm making these for free? You do the math as to what i'm paying myself if i do them at home? 5 to 10 bucks an hour. Sorry, i pull close to 6 figures at my actual job. I love tinkering and figuring out stuff, that was my reason why i did it, not to get rich.
As to why would anyone need 10rounds? Well why NOT? Why dont you STFU, as that exact same line of thinking is why we cant have a ton of firearms. "Why do you need an AK47? Why do you need 30 round mags, why do you need...why why why?!"
Go run an AR15 in three gun with 5rd magazines and see how uncompetitive you are against the guys running pistol mags.
Oh and guess what, i also made my Marlin XS7 223 bolt action gun feed from AR15 magazines. Why? So you whiners would have something else to cry about.
And to the guy talking about how AR mag'd SKS have feeding issues...you even watch my videos? Not once have i had a single misfire with hundreds of rounds fed through it.
So Red-Liner why are you not making the adapter for sale to the masses? Or make a deal with a manufacturer for a percentage and let us enjoy the fruits of your labour. It seems like your design is exactly what everyone is looking for.
