That would be wrong. The BODY is sheet metal on both. These would be low stress areas of the structure. The jet and the car would have a frame that is made from a thicker guage metal. These things called "frames" are actually what is taking the stress of the loads.![]()
Acually most of the structure of an aircraft is held together by the skin which can have great stress loads upon it.
