AR180B or a Mini 14

Buy a Mini-14,order a AR180B,and when it finally arrives,sell the Mini-14 to help pay for the AR180B.this way you'll know what they're both like.problem solved.

The mini14 gas system leaves alot to be desired. The op-rod rides on steel sleeves inserted in the stock, and a direct gas operation that vents into the barrel channel in the stock. Certainly not as clean a system as the AR180B.
Plus the fit and un-finish of the cast parts doesn't warrant $800 IMHO.
 
There is a Stainless mini 14 in Reliable Gun and Tacle in Vancouver at the moment. It is on consignment for around $550-$600. I was buying some ammo this morning and handled it...looks good to me.They are good about contacting the seller to 'deal' if that is something you are into. i still say pony up the extra $$$ and get a proper blk rifle.

OH ya and at HALF the price of a 180B -he did say price IS a factor

You can get 5/20 mags ,also 5/30,5/40 etc they are more money than AR mags thou
I myself have 2 5 round factory ,and 4 5/30 nickle plated -six mags is enough for me :)

+1. Same results here. Popcan at 100 yards, ice cream bucket at 200. No mods, no scope. If I am missing my targets I think I am more to blame than the gun, I am a poor shot with iron sights.

I am looking at the latest SIR catalog and the Mini-14's run from $746.99 to $798.99, the AR180B is $1039.00, that's not half the price where I come from. I have owned a Mini-14 before and that is why I have an AR180B on order, I can wait for accuracy.:rolleyes::D

Well with a quick search of Ellwood epps inventory they have 2 used minis
1-$549
2-$399
You are not going to buy a used 180 for anywhere near that (if you can find one ) even the used 180s are going for over a grand
So in conclusion ,I don't know where you're from but that seems like half to me

As I already stated used AR180s still go for almost new price
And also AS I ALREADY STATED he said "COST WAS A FACTOR" so I would assume that if cost is a factor perhaps he SHOULD be looking at used guns
 
I expect that I'm one of the thousands waiting upon the resolution of this argument to find out which to buy. If it's 1/2, we'll go Mini. If it's 3/4, we'll go 180B.

I am NOT trying to advocate the Mini. For my money, I'd take the 180B. Although I do understand why someone might want one. Different strokes for different folks.

1)non-restricted
2)uses Mini-mags
3)don't know
4)don't know
5)pistol grip with factory folder or one of several other aftermarket stocks
6)MANY people believe it has a HCF
7)I think the Mini takes the 180B in accessories hands down
8)controls placed well enough for me
9)availability - you could buy one today
