AR180B or a Mini 14

Well with a quick search of Ellwood epps inventory they have 2 used minis
1-$549
2-$399
You are not going to buy a used 180 for anywhere near that (if you can find one ) even the used 180s are going for over a grand
So in conclusion ,I don't know where you're from but that seems like half to me

There is a reason why used Mini's are so plentiful and cheap and used AR180B's aren't, and most of us already know, especially those of us who have owned a Mini before, like me.:p :D

Hey, Silverback, how long is the wait for your AR180B?Are you getting it from Wolverine?

I don't know and yes, I was just put on the list a couple of weeks ago but I can wait for an accurate semi 223.

Armalite supports gunownership-their history of products support civilian ownership of rifles of "evil features". AR50, AR30, AR180B, AR10.....

On the other hand,

Bill Ruger disdained and f**ked the general public- they stop selling and servicing Ruger mini GB owned by civilian. They stop selling regular cap mag to civilian. He f**ked the pistol owner by supporting 15 rd limit to pistol becasue glock holds 17rds, while his pathetic pistol line up was threatened.

And finally, by buying an Armalite, you actually support a Canadian dealer who works hard to bring us evil new toys. When was the last time the importer of Ruger care about the black rifle crowd in Canada??

Not trying to be cocky, Greentips, but does that also extend to buying 10/22s?

That's interesting, because recently I have begun to regard Ruger's products the same way as you do because of that whole issue.

I still have the 10/22, but will not be buying any more. There's plenty of other decent semi-auto .22s out there made by other manufacturers.

Good for you, Greentips.

Buy a ruger used and the money never goes to ruger itself.

AR180B looks like a decent gun, but now they can have folding stocks in the states I'd have figured they could make the receiver metal. I just get a bad feelling screwing a metal folder to something plastic.

I just hope Armalite makes a 308 version.

They aren't in line, they are just under. Believe me, I would know.

O.K. I'll take your word for it ,as I don't have 1 ,yet.
So there is no 4#,for now.

Somebody come up with the top ten reasons for the Mini-14?I'll start it out with probable the biggest 1.

1) availablity.

Just on a side note ,what about the Remington 7615P pump action? Its short, its .223,and uses AR15 mags,?

that's not quite true. The money doesn't go DIRECTLY to Ruger. But each time you buy a used 10/22, you remove one Ruger from the marketplace. Ruger manufactures another.

How in the 7 levels of Hell did I miss that???

My Apologies aiwa for my over sight, need to pay more attention, and drink less.

But,you only have 4 good reasons.
1)non-restricted.
2)yeah,it is kind of a cool rifle(like the M1 carbine,M1 gerand,and M14).
3)controls,are well placed.
4)Availabilty.

Mini mags are harder to find and cost more, the bigger looking ones, before somebody jumps on me about it.
and the pistol grip isn't stock with the rifle.an after market stock brings the price up,cost factor.ends up costing close to basic AR180B
The AR180B has a growing list of accessorys that is rapidly catching up to the Mini's.

I put 20rds in my mini 14 then sold that junk.... hated the mini I could not get a good shot at 30 yds junk junk junk

Much more happy with my 180b plus it dont look hillbilly

NEVER once have I ever had a Ruger Mini14 (Stainless Rancher) misfire on me, in all of approx 500-700 rounds I've shot through it.

Always fires and always hits where I aim.

The AR180B, using same AE 55g .223's FMJ ammo, had 9 misfires out of 300-400 rounds.. Also found the 180B to be a really odd feeling gun.

Shooting from standing position the 180B & Mini14 had virtually the same amount of accuracy. Tin cans & beer bottles @ 100 yards were no problem at all. Even at 150 & 200 yards still hit the cans and bottles with both rifles with first shot.

From my personal experience, It's a tough call between the two, both are very good rifles in my mind, but I guess if I had to choose, I'd go Mini 14, on the basis that it didnt misfire once.

As a bonus, your 180B doesnt come with scope rings ready to go now does it? I'll def be picking up a brand new Stainless Mini14 Ranch Rifle before X-mas. (Or for an X-mas gift. :D )

I love my 180B. I didn't know they were in such short supply. The only problem I have had with my 180B is when I'm using wolf ammo(stoppages). I stopped using it and I only use AE 55gr. Haven’t had a problem since. Too bad I have 3000 rds in my basement of wolf. Anyways, I'm working on a deal to get a certain firearm so my 180B will have to go up for sale if the deal goes through. I should know in a week or two.

I have NEVER had a misfire, failure to feed, or failure to eject. EVER.

2 cents of epoxy will make your 180B 100% reliable or I'll send you $50 out of my own pocket.
