ARAK 21 in Canada?

What's so special about this one? IIRC, you can buy some piston-uppers here, I think I saw one at Wanstalls.

Piston driven, left or ride side charging handle, quick change barrels in multiple calibers. No buffer tube allows for folding stock.

Just something different.

US MSRP is proposed at...

$999 for a complete upper with a 5.56mm barrel
$1099 for a complete upper with a .300 BLK barrel
$1299 for a complete upper with both 5.56mm and .300 BLK barrels

If the math works out, they value 300 Blackout barrels at $300, 5.56 at $200 and the upper and bolt group without a barrel at $800.

And interesting.. Thanks for the clarification. Gonna watch the vid when theres less immediate demand on my time :)

Edit: Took a look at it.. Definitely looks like a fun platform. Maybe one day.

FYI, they replied to a statement I made on youtube saying that it's too bad it's restricted in Canada...

We have a Canadian-legal lower receiver being built for testing early next year!

That'd be nice, but I have to wonder what sort of experience they have with the RCMP lab's FRT assignment process. Do they know how long it will actually take? And are they confident that their designs are unique enough to avoid AR classification?

Sounds like some questions for Shot Show!

Definitely hope they're not making decisions on their own and are taking advice from Canadians.
I hope they realize that the upper will need to change, and not just as simple as adding a California stock & bullet button to a lower.

Just setup an interview and a hands-on for Las Vegas in January. I'll grill them on the Canadian side of things and hopefully give some guidance before they submit to the RCMP.

Maybe even a name change for the "Canadian variant" so it doesn't have the word "AR" in it ? "Touchy-Feely Sporting Rifle" <-- my suggestion ;)

lol AR AK, that makes it double prohib restricted I think

It's nice that the upper is self contained and doesn't need the buffer tube, maybe they can make up a folding stock too.
It seems pretty XCR like, although I judge that by only pictures of each.

Couldn't anyone bring the upper in. Its just a part?

Well if they want it to be NR they will need a whole lot of guidance from you on that lower receiver, start with their marketing so that they never ever mention AR or AK when referring to this lower receiver.

I met faxon machining once for a factory tour, they build a lot more than just "small" arms, if you get my meaning.

I thought I read somewhere that they build a lot of military hardware(bomb stuff, and what not) and that small arms was a side project to keep their employees busy.
