Archangel Mosin Scope mount options

I actually do have a mosin in an archangel stock.

It's there because I had a mosin in a wood stock that just shot like total ass, and I couldn't figure out why so I stripped off the wood and found that the barrel had a quarter sized chunk rusted out of it. I had to cut and re-crown the barrel which unfortunately meant it wouldn't fit in the original stock, and it lost the front sight. I actually kept the barrel in my range bag for a while for the dudes that like to point out how I bubba'd a gun (which is good because I actually don't totally disagree with them) ;)

Anyway, to the OP, I tried a few scope mount ideas, finally went with a scout style mount, in the rear sight mount. I had to use industrial strength epoxy under it to keep it from creeping.

I have another original mosin. Shoots okay (nothing close to my Swedish mauser) but the recoil and overall length of the rifle means I'm more likely to grab the bubba'd one.

I went that way as well to get some glass on my MN, however i drilled the mount in such a way that the pins from the rear irons can be re-used to lock the mount to prevent creeping.

There was also a mount that attached to the rear sight base or dovetail that extended back over the receiver with a support point at the rear. Not sure if it is still available.

I'm starting to think I should start making one off mounts for these for all milsurp cause there are way better ways to do this in my eyes I just wish I had the equipment to do it lol

I got a base and scope I'd prolly end up putting on the EE quite soon. 3/8" dovetail to 1" scope. with a 2-7 aims sport scope.

Just replaces the rear sight.

I've got a MN in an archangel stock and was thinking of getting a muzzle brake and a scope for it. I foolishly thought that this forum might be a good place to find relevant information. I'm not sure anymore...

OH well...
