Not at my club. We have thousands tied up in steel targets for our matches and it's not worth risking damage to them.
Out of Norinco, tulammo and M855 on my steel targets the least damage was M855
Magnetism is not a nuclear property so no need to say depleted...
Uranium is paramagnetic so it would pass the check at the range...
uranium metal would be attracted to a typical refrigerator magnet, but the attraction would be so weak that you would need sensitive instruments to detect it.
The challenge is, with dozens of shooters using all different sorts of ammo we won't know until it's too late if someone is damaging our steel targets. That is why any projectile that sticks to a magnet is not permitted at our matches.
I didn't think that M855 would stick to a magnet.
If it has a green tip then I'd bet it would.
Do depleted uranium rounds stick to a magnet?
