The local fish and game club sponsors a big buck contest every year here. It was full of corruption the first two years, but the guilty parties were, fortunately, found out and stripped of their prizes. It's been a fairly well run enterprise since.
Although I guided for quite some time when i was yopunger, i was never one myself for big game scoring, B&C heads, or what have you.Win94 said:.............to each their own. I attended one of those once. I never had an interest in attending ever again. My reward was always being off from work, hunting in the beautiful outdoors and providing meat for myself. The last thing i want to do is attend some "Big Buck Night". I have had my fill of the attitudes that attend those things from being a member of the range i used to go to.
.........nothing like getting to the range at 7:00am and having it all to your self when a fella pulls up with his 14 year old son and all they do is jabber about "not going to pull the trigger unless its over 150 class"and their main goal for the year is to win the new Weatherby.

why would they even think of questioning the contest.looks like it would be a lot of funGatehouse said:Just to clarify, we have several 'trophy' awards each year- you get alittle plaque and bragging rights.
We have a huge banquet every year, and part of it is the awards, butthey are a small part.
usually 350-400 peopel show up, not bad for a towm of 1800.![]()
