Are old-stock NIB P7M8's and P7M13's going to be available for $1,400 to $1,500?

A retailer in Canada is suggesting that they are.

I have some concerns about the reality of this claim or, more precisely, the reliablity of the information upon which the claim was made. The purpose of this online board is the open discussion of issues relating to firearms in Canada, so here are my thoughts:

If there were any "NIB" old stock P7 pistols anywhere in the world, the distributor would be able to import them into the United States and sell them for DOUBLE what is being proposed here, in U.S. dollars - perhaps more depending on model, date code, markings, etc. The things are as good or better than hard currency or gold.

If it is true what the retailer has been told - and I have no reason to doubt them in any way - then that is an amazing historical find which is going to be sold off dirt cheap... to Canada. Unfortunately there are not a lot of amazing historical finds in the world of firearms anymore, and they generally don't end up in Canada.

The ARMTAC M13's that came in were used police surplus and bought for about 400 Euros each and sold for CAN$999 with one mag. 18 pistols sold out in one day of pre-order. If he had 300 of them to sell, it would have been no problem, it would just take a couple of weeks.

Those pistols now re-sell for $1,600+. The M13 mags alone sell in the range of $200-250 each.

When the police surplus PSP's became available, all we ever got were the 'B' and 'C' grade guns... almost all of which were marked "NDS" (came from the same state police agency). All the really nice, unique, valuable ones went to the U.S. - and in both countries they sold out rapidly. Our 'B' and 'C' grade pistols (sold by ArmsEAST and others) sold for about $1,100 each... used police guns... and that was about 6 years ago.

The demand for P7 pistols has never slowed down. It has increased since the end of production in 2008... when the last pistols from the HK distributor were selling for $2,250-$2,500, most of which were snapped up by insiders before ever making it onto a store shelf. So now... 6 years later the price of NIB pistols has gone down? Not a chance.

I have the full collection (PSP, M8, M13, M10) and have bought and sold many others over the years, so I am not concerened for myself. But if NIB old-stock M8s and M13s show up and sell for $1,500 Canadian... that will be a great thing, and I'll believe it when I see it. The educated investor would buy ALL of them at that price, export them to the U.S. and double their money or, hell, keep them here in Canada and double their money.

I'm curious what Electrobug thinks. The guy knows more about P7s than anyone - including where to find them and import them from Europe and what they will sell for.

I don't understand you guys some time. I get offered something and pass on the deal to CGN. I could have easily charged $2000 or more for the guns or exported them. If I had exported them everyone would have complained I sold out the Canadian market. Instead I lay out a very large sum to get something interesting in and people try to turn it into a conspiracy.

All I see on ammosource.com is a p2000 v5. I see no P7.

I myself am particularly interested in a M13

Some people are ...you know.
I appreciate it!!!

Well Ryan, for my part I will insist that my sister name her next born after you if I can have a NOS P7M8 for $1500. I emailed you earlier about it, but I'll throw the namesake clause in for good measure.

Just FYI, she's due in July, so I'll need to have that pistol by then LOL!

People are just pissed because you are low balling on a gun that is traditionally more expensive used in this country than what you are offering NOS.

But I digress; if people want to be whiny about it, charge 2k. They will sell anyway.

P7s? 1500? New in box? Tagged. I would definitely like to know.

That's what I would like to know too. If it turns out that there are new-in-box, old stock P7M8's and M13's sitting around in some warehouse in Europe, and now - for whatever reason - the person that owns them decides to let them go so cheap that a Canadian retailer can sell them for $1,400-$1,500 and make a profit it... I will be really surpirsed.

If this does ever pan out, I think we will be introduced to new definitions of "NIB", "NOS", "unfired", etc.

M8's... I might almost be persuaded that there is a chance... but a NIB M13 with box, 2 mags, papers, brush, scraper and test target is EASILY $3,000 now. I bought one for $2,250 about 5 years ago... it never even went up for sale publically, and even then the seller was fending off potential buyers "cash in hand".

So now, this same product is being sold for 2/3 of what it was 5 years ago?

If any of the above shown items are being sold for $1,500 I will be happy to take all of them, as would anyone else. You will make not less than a grand PER PISTOL re-selling them.

We'll I hope Ryan does put a limit on how many you can buy so we don't get the gougers trying to sell them for double

You're right, something could fall thru but I think this one looks good. Remember I've been able to source a few interesting things lately, Garand receivers, Mosin M38's, Mosin M44's, TOZ-8's, Spanish M43 Mausers, Polish Sportowy's etc. I also haven't even put on most of the surplus rifles as I haven't had time. There is still a case of SVT-40 Snipers...yes snipers, more Enfields, a dozen other rfiles, plus tons of pistols that I haven't even had time to list.

If you get them in I'll buy an M8 for sure, and funds permitting an M13 too, as to the rest of the conspiracy I really don't care, just get the damn things in :)!

Don't let the doubters get you down Ryan. Best way to "argue" with them is get the pistols in an remain true to your post and the price-point you plan on selling them for.

Good to know honest people are still out there bringing highly sought after firearms into Canada!
