I handled one and it seems pretty damn cool. However, the MPAR 556 is now shipping in the US, so my funds may find another use.
I own one of the NSR versions, via Wanstalls. I had previously ordered it when they were up for grabs in December. Naturally, it was payed -in-full by Mat: 'cause, we "KNEW" they were coming in the summer

I don't know how to start a poll, but can someone please start a poll to see how many people find what magazines work with their rifles? it seems like the fit on magazines vary across the board.. some say pmags work some don't some say tight some don't.. etc etc
I handled and put a few rounds through one today, I'm very impressed, don't think Norinco, it is way above any labeled Norc products , btw it doesn't have Norinco on it. The owner stripped it down, gave us a real good look, again don't think cheap, China or Norinco, it appears very solid. The mag drop button is the only thing that I didn't like on the rifle, no doubt someone will offer up a cure. The grip is small and it would be nice if you could attach a vertical front grip imo.

Ebola, I bought one and if you make a simple plastic cover to go over about one third of the ejection port both at the rear and on the top third all is good. The cases will be dropping only a few feet to the side with no stoppages or pain. I did it with cardboard from a discarded cartridge box and some masking tape. The rifle shoots tight groups with Chinese milsurp. I am a lefty and love this rifle.

American companies CAN manufacture stuff in America and many do (and when it comes to guns, the quality stuff is almost exclusively made there...or in Western Europe).
But it's WAY more profitable to build stuff in third world countries, where labour is dirt cheap and environmental standards are from the 1200s. I myself have built guns on Chinese receivers...it's not a bad way to go for some types of guns, as long as you don't mind fixing all their ####ty detail work. Somewhat humourously, their infantry rifle appears to be intended for soldiers trained to the same level as their machinists: huck enough product downrange and conceivably you'll get some hits among all those misses. The mag release and HOB alone tell you pretty much all you need to know about either their grasp of rifle-based combat, or how little they value their soldiers.
Maybe one day China will be something other than cheap manufacturing for the first world...but not this day.
At any rate, this discussion really doesn't belong in this thread. Hopefully the mods will just delete it, including this post, and this thread can go back to being about the gun, as the OP (and lead hijacker) presumably intended.
Ergonomics are good on the T-97. I do not know what TDC is talking about. This rifle is excellent in many ways including price. Because it is made in China does not detract from it's design quality or function. It shoots well and feels good to shoulder.
Ok, you run a 1000 rounds on a course left handed and tell me you don't develop a flinch to go with your bruised and battered face. A left handed user cannot run a bullpup without issues, its a common fact. A non ambi gun in the year 2013 is a piss poor design.

Cool concept and all, but bad execution. It's ugly, it's expensive, and apparently the ergonomics aren't great. I like firearms that have flavour... soul... charm. The T97 literally has none of those factors.
