What is GLobal Village?
 
The proposal to stop sight picture on lamr is just a waste of paper and effort. It effects open shooters the most...as it would eliminate checking the dot for brightness...etc
 
No open shooter relies on the sight picture to turn on their dot. Open shooters turn on their dot BEFORE they even draw their gun, so that they can take their sight picture on the draw.
 
The new sweeping rule will affect anyone using a bladetech DOH. It points right at your leg/foot. Anyone angling their gun backward doesn't draw right anyhow.

That is what I actually meant, but according to the new proposal, you will not be permitted to take a sight picture at a target or in the light you will be shooting. You will be permitted to aim at the ground approx. 3metres in front of you....
 
Pretty funny, so I guess the safariland duty holster I have issued at my work is unsafe to use because the way it's angled as per the new 2012 ipsc rules. "But is safe for real life use on the street"

Wonder how the law enforcement guys using there duty rigs (offset holsters) to compete are gonna love that one lol.

According to Vince, a holster is safety device but the draw can be unsafe act.
I hope our RD votes against this and it will go for review.
 
I agree with Slavex and his elucidation about this subject on GV.
There will be a lot of unhappy 'us' going home if they implement this change.
I went to the range today and was paying attention to my draw.
The way my holster is set, I think I do not sweep myself, but I would like someone
with sharp RO eye watch me to be sure.

I have met a few of them in my time.

IMHO these rules suck Donkey!

USPSA looks better and better every minute. However it would leave me to shooting only at EESA and the USA unless more clubs in the area jump.


Oh and IDPA I guess.


It really is a sad sad state of affairs...........why on earth do people always have to meddle with rules? Just for the sake of rules.
 
The sad part is these rules will likely get through due in no small part, to Vince's support of them. and pissing Vince off just makes him dig his heels in more. I've had some interesting PM's and emails from people on the GV about all this, but unless people get their RD to vote these rules down, their private agreement means nothing.
