Go see what happened with NR Magazines Beowulf magazine in their section of the forum.
TVPP... What are you doing under that bus??
What happened? Link please? As far as I know, they're still legal. Ain't that right TV-Presspass?

He was talking about NR Mag (Northern Republic Magazine, the company). They had submitted exact replicas of the OEM Alexander Arms .50 Beo mags to the RCMP to determine if the are good to go or not as the RCMP can determine if imported mags are what the say they are or not. The claimed them to be "dual use" if that makes any sense given there is no legislation on this other than what has already allowed for beowulf mags to be green-lighted in the past. The RCMP also said they will be looking into other similar non OEM magazines (read mags that shall not be named).
Further to add to this, I spoke with Chris of Armtac recently about what is the problem getting more beo mags, etc. in and he said that Armtac had submitted some Alexander Arms .50 Beowulf mags for review by the RCMP lab. Kinda makes me feel like this is going to end down the same path for Armtac as it did with TSE recently... even though it is clearly our laws that are the problem.
Woa! I thought the .50 Beo mags was already looked at by the RCMP and given the thumbs up. Not happy to see them going for a second look. I have some serious money to lose here, Invested about $1300 in Beo mags.

They say you still need to register your guns, but there isn't a law in the books that you can be charged with.
Is that really the case? I have to confess I haven't paid much attention to the Quebec shenanigans.
Got a thread to point to so I don't derail this one any further?
5. Magazines for semiautomatic handguns which contain more than ten (10) rounds of a different calibre
Magazines designed to contain centrefire cartridges and designed or manufactured for use in a semiautomatic handgun, are limited to 10 cartridges. The capacity is measured by the kind of cartridge the magazine was designed to contain. In some cases the magazine will be capable of containing more than 10 rounds of a different caliber; however that is not relevant in the determination of the maximum permitted capacity.
