there's no OR... it's a confiscation, possibly slightly disguised as a buyback, to brainwashed commoners ...
It's not if we get to keep our guns. Or are you saying grandfathering will only lead to confiscation?Grandfathering is also confiscation.

If I already have a prohibited (I do) will I be able to keep any of the newly banned firearms that I currently own?

Just because grandfathering delays confiscation, doesn't mean it's not confiscation.
Ask the 12(2-5) guys how well grandfathering has worked out. Yeah, they still own them, but they can't use them and they can't ever be transferred to a non-grandfathered individual or business.
related question: if you have a lower that's registered as a receiver only
what happens after a ban?
can you change status if you complete an upper, or one arrives that you bought pre-ban (slow shipping)?

Who knows... who cares. If they ban them and we can keep them, why call the government to register your paperweight build? Either way you're not legally shooting it.
The question to me isn’t how to get grandfathered or what not.
The question to me, which is unanswerable at the moment is how long before a Canadian manufacturer makes a kit to take the majority of my AR parts (and keep the egonomics) so I can still shoot legally?
And then how long for the next OIC to make that kit illegal.
As if we didn’t already have enough reasons to want the Liebrals out...
