If you needed two to time up the gas lock properly, I suspect that it was a tad loose (or overly tight) to begin with.

Either way, I'm glad it's working for you now.

I notice you have a lack of confidence in the Blackfeather stock.
Mine has an after market, wooden E2 stock from Treeline. With zero issues for the past three hundred handloads.

Ref your shims ....did you try flipping the gas locking ring over and reinstalling it ? Sometimes the need for shims can be avoided or it can reduce the number of shims by doing this.
