Athlon talos btr

The high end scopes are well reviewed on US and canadian sites. They also have some reasonably priced illuminated 1" scopes that I would like to compare to a leupold firedot. They start at $160ish US on ebay if anyone has tried them...

i would speak with Jerry @ mystic, or Tom at GBT, , they are both dealers and straight up guys. the athlons have been getting solid reviews all over the place, i think the only time iv seen them faulted is when guys start comparing them to NF/S&B/ minox etc

I had (briefly) an Athlon Talos BTR 4-14 and honestly, you get what you pay for. It's ok for a $400 scope but after a brief tenure on a .308 (where I realized the windage didn't track so good) it went on a .22 until I sold it. The elevation tracked fine and the reticle was nice but the turrets felt like ####, no zero stop, 5 mils per turn. Again, it was a $400 scope so you can't expect too much. It was definitely the first and last cheap scope I bought. The higher end Athlons I've heard are nice, as well they should be seeing as how most Japanese manufactured scopes in that price range are made (well) in the same place.
