I received my MH this week. The fit and finish are outstanding! I have fired about 40 rounds through it, not nearly enough for a "range report" but the preliminary results are good. I could care less what anyone thinks they know, this rifle is the best semi auto I have handled by a wide margin. I am averageing MOA with most ammo, and I am extremly confident that handloads will bring it below that. I am not really the group shooting kind of guy, all my shooting is from feild positions, prone, sitting, kneeling and using different supports. I will likely only bench it for load development. It will be rare this rifle goes to the range, all shooting has been done on my back 40. The trigger is perfect for this kind of rifle, zero creep, crisp break and good reset. Don't know the weight, but I have always judged triggers on their feel and not concerned with the numbers. I also have the ATRS brake and it works great at taming recoil. I did not create a lightweight version, however its not overly heavy (about 11.5 with my optic and bipod) and the balance is great.
I did have 2 failure to feed, both ammo related. They are handloads that I made for my bolt rifle and I believe the COAL was a hair to long and the rifle would not go fully into battery. The tip was basically scraping the inside of the mag. They also showed some signs of over pressure, so I a stopped using those loads. Using ammo with a slightly shorter COAL and feeding was perfect out Magpul gen 2 mags.
I diden't bother with taking pictures of targets, one they were far away and I am Lazy, and I find that people are very critical on here sometimes. You can't please everyone and frankly I could care less. All the "haters" are fine for me to spend my money to make sure its what they want. I am not a paper shooter, once my handloads are below MOA I am done, I don't care after that. I don't have the time to piss around trying to knock another 1/4 MOA off with handloads so someone can decide if they want to buy one. Most of my paper targets were sight in, I shot 2 groups to make sure I was happy with my zero and I went on to my steel shooting. I had no issue hitting 4" steel at 200M everytime and my 1/3 IDPA at 550 was laughably easy after my first round missed (just learning the rifle and I have no Chrony so my MV guess was likely off) but the hold was easy to figure out after that.
Here is my opinion on the accuracy debate of this rifle. Its true, not much accuracy info is available yet, especially with comparisons drawn to knights, Gap, larue and other semi gas guns. There are significatly more of those guns out there in the hands of talented shooters and they have been around much longer, of course there are more targets! There is about 100 of these out there maybe more but less then 200 I don't know the exact number. How many of those are in the hands of guys that can consistiantly shoot under 1MOA? I am certianly not one of them. How many of those talented shooters have the ability to handload a semi gas gun with ammo to sub MOA standards in Canada? I am going to bet it is even less (again I am not one of them). A gas gun is also a very different beast then a bolt to shoot well. These have been out for maybe 6 months. Give it time, if your worried about accuracy wait for more targets. Its your money if thats what you want to do. If you don't think it will be "accurate enough" don't buy it. Take your negativity elsewhere. ATRS is already behind on orders due to demand, they don't need your money. They created somthing special for the Canadian market, you want to be critcal about it and then wonder why manufacturers don't want to bother trying to make us happy.
There is zero doubt in my mind that it is the most accurate and well built NR semi auto available.
