Just ordered a Modern Hunter in 6.5 Creedmoor. :) Going to put a S&B 3-20x50 on it.

Awesome! I am one of the few who have one in 6.5 Creedmoor as well. I posted my hand-load data within this thread if you are interested.... gets me to .3 - .5MOA, but only *IF* I am doing my part.

My thoughts are killing power.... But I know the .260 and 6.5 buck the wind better..... And I have a $hit Tonne of 6.5 bullets for my 6.5 Lapua....

I want my MH to be first off a solid hunting/bush gun, and second a target/varmint gun.

I'm really torn on the Proof CFW barrel vs the match too....
usually for hunting you want as light as possible, when I looked into the MH there was no weight savings with the CFW barrel vs the light profile. It was around $4500 before taxes to get an 8lb rifle which I still regard as too heavy a starting point for my needs.

I will keep looking for my unicorn or someone to build one.

I also just ordered one but went with 243 I wanted a coyote gun but still have something that was legal to hunt big game.I ordered a few custom guns over the years so am used to waiting.

Rick I just wanted to thank you for your excellent fix on my modern hunter charging handle with the earth magnet. Will my modern varminter have the same?

Going forward ALL of the Hunters and Varmint will have this feature. We still have a number of the original Hunters to get this done to as well so hopefully folks with these will start to contact us about the upgrade.

I got sum time off work so going home to do a bit of deer hunting on Haida Gwaii just 4 or 5 days but better then nothing
my MH is heavy i mean 13.5 lb heavy going to have a lighter 6.5 CM later on but for now I will live with it and shoot off shooting sticks
i don't plan on packing my MH to much on this hunt as I just picked up a 1970 s 404 unimog and i got my rokons
will post later when i get back
My new 338 fed. upper will be sent out to me in Jan in time for my birthday lol

The Carbon Fiber PRI handguards are dead quiet, just spendy.

If you have the DPMS or JP handguard and want it to be less noisy wrap it in McNett camo tape or Dr. Sholls moleskin. Sounds goofy I know but it works and is cheap.

I was thinking about using tape for now till I can get Corbin fiber handgard .
hunting with this type of rifle is new to me
