ATRS Modern hunter specs, pics and range reports

I took everything off my gun, except for the flash hider... no mag , no optics, and it weighs 8.8 pds. Probably not exact. . Digital bathroom scale one with me alone and one with me and modern hunter. .. tried three times and was exactly the same.
 
That fits. Rick and Dustin told me that 8lbs is the lightest they can get them - and the CFW Proof is about .8lbs lighter than the steel.....

I did the same thing my MH came out to be 12.2 lb naked with the heavy contour barrel it to much fore hunting rifle
I will have to put my rifle on Jenny Craig diet to get it to 8.8lb new barrel and handgrip coming up in the New Year

I'm on the high end with mine too. 22" heavy barrel, optics and empty mag puts mine at 15.5lbs, but I knew that going into this. I don't expect to be tromping around the backwoods with it though. My MV, however, will be a different story.

As a side note the surplus Austrian 7.62 does not work well in the modern hunter... I would say 20% light primer strikes. They work well the second time through. In the first 50 rds I had one jam. The empty shell stayed in the gun while trying to load the new round.otherwise other than the light primer strikes the gun ran well. Once my order of 155 gr tap comes in il try again. I found that it likes the gen 2 magpul works nicer than the xcr 10 rd mag.

I had the same issues with my MH I had to separate the upper and lower to un jam the rifle but this was the first time Shooting it after playing a bit with the rifle I have no problems But then agen I'm not rushing to dump and load a fresh magazens like the tactical guys on youtub
 
Ya I find the pmags feed better. If you try to push a round out of a pmag vs an xcr with your finger you'll see which one is easier. I find sometimes it fails to strip the next round fully and it's more often with the xcr mags.
