The Fortis quick detach forend is super light, not sure why you would need it to come off that easily but it's kinda neat anyway. Combined with the CF wrapped barrel and there isn't much weight out front.

If/when I find a good accurate load for it this rifle may become my go-to field rifle for predator/deer hunting. The more I read about 6.5 Creedmoor the more I like it.

After taking off the JP handguard I can understand the appeal of a QD. But once is goes back on it will probably stay on. Then again there are a lot of options. And nine pounds! I really can't wait to get that new barrel on her now! She's going on a diet next set of days off! She's over 12lbs right now.

Also curious if the “under 100th” rifle defect was ever confirmed.

Over the years I had found a lot of discrepancies from standard DPMS/SR25 or LR308/AR10’s.

Grip spring doesn’t line up for safety detent (used threaded cap that’s why safety is so stiff) Using aftermarket safety took a massive amount of custom work.

Grip doesn’t fit property because grip mounting surface isn’t beveled perfect.

Dust cover pivot bar was crooked and doesn’t clip (bought extra plastic and modified it)

XCR 10 rounder don’t feed reliably because of follower tilt

Magazine release button opening is non standard and top clearances don’t allow all aftermarket magazine release buttons (modification was needed)

Upper receiver isn’t a true DPMS High profile fitment. More modifications needed.

Lastly; would LOVE to hear more detail about “shiney marks” on uppers from cam pin collisions.
 
Funny my Radian arms ambi safety dropped right in, I Used a different detent and spring obviously . My MDT grip also fitted perfectly, as My Colt Canada dust cover and my Colt Canada mag release. If you need to modify parts to make them fit you bought the wrong parts...lol...

As for Mag , those XCR mags were never that great anyways. They ran like #### in my Colt Canada C8 my Tavor and X95

My serial # is under 10 btw . I was the first guy to place an order while the neckbeards were complaining of the price... ;)
