Scenario:

A "co-habitor" has changed his/her mind and decided it's no longer a suitable thing to have a firearm in the house.

Is it possible to register an ATT with friends/family residence and pick up from their house when going to the range? They would have to own a PAL suitable for restricted firearms, correct?
 
lol - both funny responses - but I'm serious! Do I just have to lather on the sweet love or can I register to a 3rd party residence/storage facility??
 
You are welcome to store them at my house ... I'll babysit them for you...:evil:

Seriously - I would go over the safety section of the handbook with him/her. He/she technically can't know where keys/combinations are since he/she doesn't have a PAL. So you would be the only one who could take them out ... and I would imagine that they would be best kept in cases until you get to the range.
 
Your CFO may issue a temporary ATT for the specified purpose of "temporary storage" at a location other than your primary residence. It may be valid for up to one year. It may be renewed indefinitely.

Ask your CFO.

Correct. But this ATT would only allow him to take the firearms to the "temporary storage" place, not to and from it for target practice. What he would need to do is A) do the right thing and keep his firearms at home with him where they belong so that his normal ATT is all he needs, or B) Have a shooting friend keep the gun at his place for you. He could meet you at the range, you "lend" him the gun with the registration, and he using his regular ATT can then transport it to his house and back to the range for you whenever you want/ he is willing.

This is a slippery slope to central storage which is something none of us will support, encourage or endorse.

Those would be good comprimises.

Or he could just tell his socialist tyrant "co-habitor" to take a hike.
 
If your partner doesn't trust you enough to allow you to have firearms then it's time to seriously consider your relationship. I have a friend who has to sneek to the range with me because his wife will not allow him to come shooting with me. Basically he is lying to the wife - my marriage has lasted 20+ years because we support each other and don'y have to lie.

I don't care how good the punanni might be. If you loved guns before you met her, it's up to her to come to terms with that. If she gives you an ultimatum, by all means, take her up on it and find someone else.

I've loved guns my whole life, but I haven't been as interested as I am now!

Wouldn't get rid of her over guns, that's just stupid - I'll find a way to have both

Central storage, what is wrong with that?

I would never want to meet up with someone who has my gun, I will be shooting more often than the people I meet so it would never work out and I would hate bothering them just to get my gun.

Other than storing at my primary residence, what are my other options for what I am looking for? I saw the temp ATT but will that allow me to transfer to the range?

Ideally it would be nice to rent a storage space and have my gun safe installed there so I can pick up and go and never have to bring it home.

Doesn't work that way. The Ontario LTATT only covers firearms registered to your residence, for trips to and from that residence. If your firearms are stored somewhere else, you'd need to get an STATT for each trip to and from that storage location. Probably doable, but it sure would be a pain in the ass if you're going to the range as often as you say you are.

Stick with non-restricteds for now if your "co-habitant" won't accept firearms in the house and won't change his or her mind.
 
Based on what you have written -what you want is not possible. Forget about owning your own restricted and go do the supervised shoots at Target Sports.
 
Decide whether you want the guns or the woman, then ditch the tyrant woman who won't let you have the guns.

Lay down the law and say "I want this, and that's that" and if she leaves then that's her problem.

A woman who didn't want me owning guns is a woman I don't want in my house, let alone my bed.
