ATT's what you need to know

Why don't you go back from were you're from

Go clean your mouth while you are at it dumb ass :HR:

I know exactly where I am from.. and where I am.. and in regards to this context that is CANADA,., since you have neglected to notice the FA is FEDERAL...and applies to ALL of us.

As for the rest.. gtfu.

Im in b.c.
Added the "R" to my licence Jan.3
I provided the seller with my licence # and range membership info, however the CFO would not do the transfer until a long term att was in place.
I had thought a one time permit would be issued to get it from the seller to my home, but that is not the case.
Paper work (filled in according to the info here) was sent last Thursday.....
......waiting

once again.. the CFO CANNOT do that legally...

Same as the ON CFO is trying to not issue a LTATT w/o membership...

It's all BS policy... but policy is NOT LAW. Your proper response to such BS is demand it in writing as is required under the FA... and then force the issue!

No big deal once you get your first gun and ATT it will be much easier.

Don't fight them....it won't help to speed up process

Ps of course anti's won't agree with my last statement but hey who care! ;)

Hmm and do you work for the CFO w/that BS?

The anit's would be all for not fighting them.... but the rest of us KNOW we need to fight back... thought you apparently don't grasp that or don't want to.

Above should say I faxed in my info on Feb24
just recieved my permit to transport to all ranges, gunsmiths, ect, today, exactly week

OK...read it again with the reading glasses on.
Not all ranges (I left that section blank on the form),only the range I am a member of.
Not specific to any one firearm tho.

Well now all you have to do is call them and make the change.....once you get the initial ATT thing are quite a bit easier....of course that also depend on the province of residence :)

After reading thropugh all 30 pages of this thread, I have multiple answers to one question, but they seem to contradict each other. Either because it was from staring at a computer screen for too long and I missed some key replies, or just zoned out.

If I want to "legally" transport my restricted firearms from my home to anywhere but my local gun club range or a gunsmith, I need an invitation from the gun club that I plan on shooting at or be with IPSC and the papers that would come with their events.

Since I don't plan on playing with the IPSC guys, that really isn't an option for me. I would like to go back home and go shooting with my friends there without the hassle of getting the invitation from their club and then getting the seperate ATT to take my firearms there.

Is it possible for me living in Manitoba to get a Western Canada ATT at all anymore? The CFO says no, but others on this forum say yes (I think?). I would love to take my guns with me whenever I go on tasking, but I'm not going to pay for a gun club membership for three different provinces, or however many I have to go to through work.

No, even with my IPSC ATT I still require invitation for each match that I go to...and Manitoba CFO cannot just give you an ATT to travel as you want......

From shilo, I think I know what you do for a living....if it's like me good luck on them letting you roam free with your personal firearm on their time :)

#1.. there is no requirement within the FA to require a written invitaiton to any club.. despite the BS the CFO's try to claim otherwise.

Not having a written invitation when you are not a competition shooter (IPSC etc where an actual written invitation to a formal competition is common) is NOT good and suffiient reason to deny the issuance of the ATT since you can go to the club and shoot as either a guest of a member (w/o written permission of the club execs) or using a daypass/day membership for those clubs that offer such.

#2. Yes you can get a milti-province ATT and all of the CFO's can issue them. However you have to be able to explain why with a good and sufficient reason. (They are allowed to ask this info under section 55 of the FA)

#3 as for "anywhere but my local gun club range or a gunsmith" that is entirely dependent on the exact wording of your ATT. Common destinations are club/range/gunsmith/verifiers (defunct now as a rule)/border crossings.. and if pressed you can have a multi-address ATT and registration though they try to claim otherwise.

However they will not issue an ATT for "anywhere/anytime"

Regardless of how moronic the entire ATT premise is.

Cool beans. Where can I get this documentation so that when I try to get a different ATT I can use this as a reference and not have to play games with the CFO?

You can start by nabbing this form.. filling in your own personal info and submitting it to the CFO... and come on back and post when you get any reply etc from them:

Currently there will be some games w/the CFPO regardless... but the more of us working on it the better off we all are :)

I want to see if I understand the process for alberta

Please humor me just getting into the restricted side.

Challeneged the Exam passed easily
Paperword filled out and sent in now we wait and wait and wait

So in the future Rpal arrives everyone is happy.

I go to the store to buy a restricted
Process starts for transfer and registration (Intialted by the store correct?)
I get a case number from them?
I phone the CFO confirm the deal and we wait some more

then i get a temp ATT to bring it from the store to my house?
then i apply for a long term att correct?

I will belong to a range as i have one like 2K from my house.

So i get said long term and then i can transport it to any approved range in alberta correct?

Now I know in the manual is says you have to go in the direct line and cant stop to take a leak but i heard that has changed is this true?
For example my inlaws live in olds and i might want to take said restrcited to the range there with my father in law do i have to drive to the range, then drive straight home or can i go to his house for supper?

just looking for some help with this

thanks

I don't have time for a long reply atm.. but briefly:

if buying from a store there is no need for you to confirm.. the store will do all of it.

You can apply for an LTATT w/o even owning any restricted's. (You can legally borrow them).

You do not have to belong to a range etc to get an LTATT despite the BS spewed by the CFO's

well that makes it a bit easier, So the LTATT belongs to you not the gun that makes more sense.

Yes I understand that but the range by my house is cheap and then atleast you can use the restricted you purchase so i am not overly concerned about that.

Yes a proper ungimped att is for you for ANY restricted so long as you have the cert as well as is allowed via law.

I understand the range u have is cheap... but the price of that is never the issue. The CFO trying to FORCE you by their own statements to have such membership even though it is not required by law is the issue. It does not matter if the cost is $0.01 or $1 Million. If it is NOT required by LAW then the CFO's have no business trying to enforce their "policy" as if it is law.

It's a matter of principle... we already put up with far more BS than we should.... I for one drew a line in the sand... are you going to do the same.. get in the fight.. or are you going to be a sheeple?

There are only the 2 sides after all.
