ATT's what you need to know

Hey guys, quick question. i wanted to know if i can go to the range after picking up my pistol from the gun store (with the appropriate STATT) if i already have the registration certificate and my LTATT?

Hi all
This is the first purchase from a private seller (our member from EE) and didn't know if I had to apply for a new LATT for my new pistol.
I called the CFO this morning & was told that it's covered by the LATT for my other pistol (if it's still valid), that means no need to apply for the new one. She also said that a new registration paper will be sent to me by mail.
Is it the correct procedure when you buy privately? Is it apply to all provincials or only Saskatchewan?
Thanks

In Sask our ATTs don't list individual firearms. They are good for any restricted you legally posses. Unless you are one of the unlucky ones from a few years a go that got a gimped one.

Thanks for info Shawn
I don't remember my LATT list individual of my pistols or not but I think it has the SN # of my other pistols on it. Mine was issued bout 2 years ago.
I have to check to see if I'm an unlucky one or not when I get home.

edit:
i'm glad that mine doesn't list individual firearms.

Quick question if you will indulge me...I didn't read all 69 pages of this, my A.D.D. kicked in after 2-3 pages.

Is it easier to buy a restricted via a company that ships it to your house?
ie. If you have your RPAL, order a new restricted gun from an online vendor, and they ship it your door

Are you able to bypass the STATT this way? By getting Canada Post/common carrier to transport it for you?

Then once you get it home you apply for LTATT etc. as normal of course, just wondering if you can skip part of the process if you are buying a new gun "over the counter" vs "shipped".

you don't need a STATT if the package can fit into your mail box or you're home to receive it. if it too big or no one home to receive it, you need to pick it up at the Canada Post office then you need to call for the STATT
you can call to get the LTATT right after the transfer is complele
hope that help

Manitoba no longer allows transport to Gunsmiths with new LTATTs. You have to get a STATT now to take your firearms in. A second STATT if you need to leave it and pick it up another day.

but if getting my 1st STATT is any indication it's not too big of a deal, to get one except being on hold for 10 - 15 minutes.

-put the cell phone on speaker and go about you business
-when they do get to you, tell them what you need and your e-mail address and within 5 minutes the STATT is in your inbox.

Actually I was pretty impressed with the whole ATT/Reg Transfer process.

When I finally got a club membership I called and they told me to fax it in and it would probably take 5 business days for them to get to it. In 2 business days (not counting the day I faxed it) I got an e-mail with my Registration Transfer Notification and my LTATT attached. Phoned them and had my STATT, as stated above, within 5 minutes of my call actually being taken.

The only caveat is, that until I get the actual Registration Certificate in the mail, I can't really use my LTATT. But the lady on the phone assured me that the STATT is valid with only the Transfer Notification.

Hey everyone, noob here. I'm from B.C. and the fax number for the CFO on the CFP website is different from the one on the first page of this thread. I guess I should just fax my ATT form to the one on the CFP website? (604) 575-1241

Do I file now or when the package comes? Or how does the CFO know if I pick it up or get it a my door. I asked this to the CFO at the sportsman show and he couldn't give me an answer.
