ATT's what you need to know

In Saskatchewan it is a CFO imposed rule that you need to be a member of a club

But it is not enforceable since the CFO MUST obey the law and membership is not legally required.. therefore if they say it's "policy" you simply reply that maybe.. but it is NOT law therefore process my ATT / restricted registration now or issue a formal refusal to perform your duties as defined within the FA as per the FA s.72 (which they really don't want to do - and no a refusal / revocation cannot be done on the phone etc.. the method and conditions for such are specifically dictated within the FA.

So that's a 'self imposed rule' by Sask CFO. Because Shalimar swears up and down there's no law saying that. And I tend to believe him.....

No need to just "believe" me.. just read the FA and the SOR's etc.. as well as court transcripts where the CFO(s) have been forced to admit membership is NOT required by law.
There is no lack of evidence to such effect.

And it is an intentional "policy" by the CFO(s).. which has no force in law as previously mentioned.

it's bad enough we are forced to abide by the absolutely moronic FA (aka C-17/68).. but to sit by and sheepishly accept the BS from the CFO's acting as if they can create law is beyond absurd. They are not legislators and even the "discretion" they have in part cannot cover this and they know it and hate that fact.

Yep and hes going on 3 years with out his restricteds irrc.

Shawn

Yep.. as I've posted in this thread.. it sucks.. but it was part of what I understood would be the sacrifice when I started this w/o anyone else helping way back when. That has changed since thankfully.. though many more are needed since sheer #'s are in our favor. :)

You can apply over the phone, I have never done a paper application.

Shawn

You can.. but that does not leave a paper trail for legal purposes as a rule unless you know exactly what you are doing.. esp when applying for the "ungimped" ATT etc.. whereas a Fax produces a report that is legal in court saying it was sent successfully.

Its recorded on both ends ;)

And I have an ungimpeded one and have had one here since 2003 when I first moved here. It can be done that is the point.

Indeed it can I know.. can u scan yours and PM it etc and I can redact it etc etc for others to see etc (including as redacted evidence if needed the same as some others have done)

I got mine in 7 business days. In Ontario.

That seems excellent from all the horror stories I have heard. I got mine in a few hours from the Alberta CFO, but that isn't crazy from them. Faxed in my LTATT renewal request with a copy of my range card and had the new ATT emailed to me inside of 4 hours.

I think it isn't bad compare to many horrible story in Ontario. Mine was during Christmas.

I'll leave it up to the various province members to fill in what needs to be done in each province. Once they are all filled I'll lock the thread and leave it up for further reference. I will also remove any replies that don't provide the info people need. So please don't bother posting unless you can fill us in on all the steps for your province, as I'll just nuke the post anyhow.

what happened to this????

Well, just starting the process for LTATT. I have just purchased/am in the process of purchasing 3 restricted from private individuals. Once the transfers are completed, I will be submitting the form for an ungimped ATT.

Let the games begin!!!

Targets Up!!!!!

I have a question.... I've searched but I couldn't really find a definite answer....

I'll start with I'm from British Columbia...

My LTATT start address (place gun will be stored, transported from etc) is my old address and I moved prior to having any restricted firearms. Now I have bought one on the EE and it's being shipped to my new residence that isn't listed on my ltatt. How do I go about this now? Do I need to reapply for the ltatt from new residence or I just call in and update my address on file?

Thanks
